Just to show how good John Morra is, he is still ranked 8th in the BCA Players Rankings on the front page of AZ Billiards, even though he has taken a hiatus from pool, that started many months ago.

That stat alone, ought to show that he is probably the best player in history!

John Morra is rated #37 in the world and other players are passing him up on the most accurate rating system in the entire world FargoRate.

John Morra just won the Canadian 9 Ball Championship this past week. I don't know what kind of hiatus he is on, but I hope he competes outside of Canada.

I've often found that the best way to deal with a hiatus is to play through it.

He's scheduled to play in the Matchroom World Cup of Pool shortly (paired with Alex). Also took second in the Canadian 10b yesterday (lost to Klatt 13-10).

I believe a lot of the Matchroom events, all expenses are paid for plus the money prizes is very high with zero entry fee.. Makes sense to attend them when invited, free money.

It's the US events and other international events where he would accrue thousands in expenses to play for a week or long weekend.

That is a great match. I would like to see that. What game will they be playing? When?

10b, long race (possibly to 100) at Griffs in Vegas. Griffs will be streaming.

Date not fixed yet.

That is a very tough match for John considering that JB has never taken a hiatis.
Wasnt Alex supposed to play Shaw race to 100 for 100k?

Just barking from Alex's crew. No way Alex plays Shane, Shaw, Dennis, Ko, JL Chang 10b race to 100.

The BCA list on main page covers older events:

Event 1: 2013 Southern Classic
Event 2: 2013 US Open 10-Ball
Event 3: 2013 US Open 8-Ball
Event 4: 2013 Turning Stone Classic XXI
Event 5: 2014 Derby City Classic
Event 6: 2014 Turning Stone Classic XXII
Event 7: 2015 Turning Stone Classic XXIII
Event 8: 2015 Derby City Classic

All of these occurred before his retirement I believe.

The challenge was 9b, not 10b. 9b on the spot. Race to 100 for 100k. I agree with you on 10b solely because of the break, but no doubt that's why it's 9b!

As far as I know, Jayson was the only one interested but he was looking to line up enough backing.

During one of the streams in January, Shaw said he had a 100K(i think, maybe less) match setup with JL Chang in Houston, but it got cancelled when Kevin Cheng and JL Chang cancelled their trip to the US. None of the Taiwan players made it for DCC and a few other big tourneys in Jan.

most accurate yes because you simply don't have another system that measures skill at pro level however we have already seen where it's not always a true rating ,
