the reason they are moving to US is money....short and simple (well I believe so anyway). There are more gambling opportunities and money-tournaments there than here.... If they were only considering quality of competition, they might as well stay in Europe or move to Philippines even more likely...
As for the American pool might towering over the European one-trick ponies...hmmm.....I am at loss for words
Personally I would love to see Mosconi Cup being played for each discipline....8b, 9b, 10b, 7b, straight, rotation, banks, 1p.... I just do not think you would like the result....in addition to 1p and banks....9b might be the one that gives you the best chances....the rest of them would not be pretty I am afraid.
This is nothing more than my opinion of course...but I do feel I am not alone thinking so... Perhaps the first step towards recovery is to admit the problem that perhaps US is not the best at the moment.....but could be......however it will require a boat-load of work from everyone from grounds up.....
The reason Europeans move to America is because the pool is more exciting here. Your Euro tours are like watching paint dry with little to no emotion in the game. Here, we welcome all nationalities of players and allow them to strut their stuff, unlike the segreated games in Europe.
Here in America, we play all games and play them damn well. Europeans are one-trick ponies, just starting to learn other games.
In the end, Americans surpass the Europeans in all facets of pocket billiards and will continue to do so. A race to 5 don't mean squat when it comes to almighty strength on a field of tournament blue.
