Matchroom Announces Mark Gray as the First Player Named to the 2014 Mosconi Cup Euro Team -
Team USA has SVB already confirmed as a team co-captin that leaves 8 spots open
4 for each team does anybody know how and when these players will be selected ?
Mosconi Cup is less than 2 months away

From an article in this month's Billiards Digest:

"I will be at the U.S. Open," said Wilson, "but I don't think performance at the tournament will be a big factor, unless, of course, someone comes out of nowhere to win it. I'll probably make a decision two weeks after that. The announcement will come through Matchroom."

So that was Mark Wilson's thinking as of, probably, a few weeks ago.
 
I can't imagine Darren not getting picked. There are only two wild card spots which is the only way Mika, Karl and Darren can qualify. So we can get two of them and I'd be stunned if one of them wasn't Darren

There are three automatic spots available on Team Europe drawn from three separate rankings; the Euro Tour rankings made up of five events, a World event list made up of the China Open, World 9-ball Championship and October’s US Open, and a list combining all eight events. The remaining two players will be wildcard picks. -looks like the US Open will be deciding factor in 2 of the three automatic spots
