My objection to the streaming of events is not directed at the guys who stream original material (many of whom are posters on here).
It is the commercial companies who hijack other people's intellectual property for profit.
Still, I see your point about watching on the internet if there is no terrestrial way of seeing it. I keep hearing that streaming is the future. But the Mosconi Cup belies the fact that you cannot beat professionally broadcast pool matches.
Within a short time, streaming will go the same way as Betamax, 8 Track and the dodo.
I would disagree with this, I believe streaming is the future. Not some crummy feed that is pirated from someone watching tv halfway across the globe, but a legitamate stream of a professional production that any user can pay for regardless of where they are in the world. When companies open their eyes and realize they don't have to deal with the limitations of a distributer but can just deal directly with the viewer you will see a lot of things change. It has already started, it is just a matter of time. I look forward to paying to see a high quality mosconi cup stream sooner than later.
