Mosconi vs Fats thanks to iinsidepool mag

I started watching it last night, until I fell asleep. The first thing that came to mind, was how Fats didn't get killed for all the crap coming out his mouth. I laughed at a few things he said, but the guy is disrespectful. For example:

Fats made fun of Mosconi for wanting the crowd quiet and not moving while he shot, but Fats argued with Mosconi until he took his coat off.

Did it bother fats for Mosconi to wear a coat or was it another ploy to "shark" Mosconi. Either way, he was just annoying. Those chump moves may work when gambling with a nobody, but Mosconi was cool as a cucumber. Mosconi said it himself, Fats was getting upset like he had everything to lose, while Mosconi thought it was fun to compete again.

I have a few old videos on youtube if anyone is interested. Minnesota Fats Vs Irving Crane, The Willie Hoppe Story, Q-Men, ABC Ten-Twenty Billiard Game, Jansco's

Not really.
This has been on You Tube for years.
Was posted there in few sections for a while.

Man, you can forget how good that old man could shoot!! I really wish there was some footage of a 1940s Willie Mosconi out there...

Notice the total disregard for the 9ball break by both players. To them it was just some luck shot to start the game. Then they shot amazing.

They played 9ball, 8ball, rotation, then were to play 1P then 14.1. Best 3 out of 5. Boy I wish they dropped the 8ball and 6ball and cut to the chase. Fats' strong game was 1P and Mosconi's was 14.1.

FWIW they did play each other several more times in Wild World of Sports type legends mini tournaments. Mosconi got the best of Fats but Fats did win one of the matches and Mosconi literally looked like he was going to have a seizure (see the white lips; it's on YouTube somewhere). These guys were total opposites. Which is what makes any rivalry great.
