MP Cup! PacMan International Tournament

Obviously it can be confusing to some when simply listing names like that without ever stating the exact format they would be using. There is a bracket on their website where I found out it would be 16 coming out of the groups.

Correct . They are mixing 8 teams that have qualified to last 16 with 24 team still remaining. Usually when you say Round of 32 all 32 teams will play but here 8 teams already thru to last 16 and need not play

A few strong teams in remaining 24 fighting to get remaining teams- here are the well known teams
Shane - Dennis
Johan Chua- Gomez
Lee Van - Banares
Chang -Fu
Efren- Buste
Thorsten-Morra
:)

 Well you never know. There are unknown monsters waiting to pounce on these big guns. Remember, Shane was eliminated in the singles tournament by a player named Christian Bariando (sp?) who I have never even heard of.

So Shane and Dennis won. But it was on the stream, so I doubt they'll be on stream again for the next match in about 10 minutes. Shucks -- that could be a good one.

Score is 2-0, Corteza/Banares leading. This will be SVB/Orcullo's toughest test. If they win here, they will land in the final 16.

Even though it is not on the tv table, rack to rack commentary will be provided on this link. Just keep on refreshing every few minutes:

Can't see it; don't use Facebook. Is no current match being streamed? All I see is a replay of the 12 pm (local time) SVB/Orcollo doubles match. I thought maybe the current SVB/Orcollo doubles match might be at least partially visible in the background of the current streamed match; but are they not streaming anyone else now?

At work so can't watch, but interested to know how SVB and Orcollo are playing together... Do they discuss things at the table or mostly just let each other do their own thing and take what comes?

They said they were having problems with the live streaming because of the bad weather over there.

For those with no access to facebook, I will just cut and paste the updates from Christopher Clark's facebook account:

Rack # 1 - This by far will be the toughest test the Dream Team have faced - Lee Vann Corteza and Jericho Banares ,
Off of a dry break by Shane VanBoening this talented team runs the rack out with ease . 1 - 0 for LVC

Rack # 2 was made to look so easy as the local team breaks and runs out with out a hitch , Dennis Orcollo to break traling 0 - 2

Rack # 3 Lee Vann Corteza will break at 2 - 1 after Shane VanBoening and Dennis Orcollo take avantage of a miss and cut the lead in half .

Rack # 4 Wow a fantastic long bank to the corner on the 1 by Jericho produces a run out and a lead of 3 - 1 , Shane VanBoening to break

Rack # 5 Shane VanBoening comes up short on position to the 4 , Dennis Orcollo makes the hit and what should of been an easy clearance Lee Vann Corteza inexcusably misses the 5 and the Dream Team make them pay , lead again cut to one frame 2 - 3 Dream Team

Rack # 6 Team Philippines Breaks and Runs out and regain a 2 game lead at 4 - 2

They talk on critical shots and do not stand up to support each other on all shots.
I see Dennis takes the lead in pointing and deducing where to shoot
Also sometimes they do not touch hands or high 5 when they win a rack
They are both introverted types so I suppose they do not do the kumbaya dance that much. Probably their understanding is telepathic

Rack # 13 sees Dennis Orcollo make a 3 in the corner but gets a cruel scratch in the side now the Dream Team will have to dig out of a big hole as Jericho breaks on the hill leading 8 - 5

Rack # 14 Its all over Lee Vann Corteza and Jericho Banares defeat Shane VanBoening and Dennis Orcollo by a score of 9 - 5 ending the hopes of this stacked team . Great effort guys .

==================

With SVB/Dennis now out of this tournament, I am now rooting for the underdog team of Carlo Biado/Anton Raga.

kaflooey

So Shane wins zero in the singles and $250 in the doubles.

Well he can stay a couple of days for some money matches. I am sure there will be no shortage of players looking forward to matching up with him.
