I think a total of about 500 atround the Shanghai area is often mentioned (pool halls not tables :eek: )
 
Yes, The One is right.

I'm told there are 500 registered clubs in Shanghai. I guess I've seen about 30 clubs that have 10 or more tables. Almost all US 9 footers.

Most expat bars here have US pool tables, some are 8 foot.

You should find what you are looking for.

I was starting to wonder if you meant a different kind of "club", memory not that bad after all :)
 
I live in Shanghai also and can tell you that pool and snooker are booming here. There are pool rooms everywhere and new ones opening all the time. There are five that I know of within a 20 minute walk of my house and probably some more in the area that I haven't discovered yet.

All that I have seen have a mix of 6 x 12 snooker and 9 foot American style pool tables. As Colin mentioned there are some bars with 7 and 8 foot tables.

If your game is 9 ball or 8 ball, you'll have no trouble finding a game here, at whatever level you want. There is little or no 14.1, one pocket or bank pool.
