Murray Table

Played at a new sports bar in town that has 7 brand new Murray tables. Fast, Simonis, with unforgiving pockets.

Never heard of Murray tables but I liked these. I was surprised when I heard he paid over 5K each. I asked why he didn't buy Brunswick GC and he said they were 8K each. That surprised me because I heard that Rocky at Capone's paid $5,500 for his GC's. But that was about 1 to 2 years ago.

He had them shipped from California so I assume the price includes shipping and set-up. But not sure.

He claims the Murray is one step down from the Brunswick.

have to sell a lot of $2 beers and table time to recoup his investment. And then re-cover every year at $350 each. No wonder there aren't more pool rooms.

Murray tables are pretty good, from what I've been told and have played on. All pool room owners should or actually needs to know how to recover tables, it will save the room hundreds of dollars per table/year. Atleast the first few years because of the rooms profits are lower, after that he can pay someone to do it for him.

I too am a big fan of Murrey tables. I played on them for years before the pool hall went broke. So sad.

I have a friend who had the top of the line Color Of Money tournament table.
I'm sorry but it was a piece of crap. The rail bolts lock down on wood not through it and on the slate itself. That's why the rails make a "thunk" when the balls hit it hard.
The corner aluminums are sharp and are known to ding cues really bad when accidentally hit from the bottom. The slates are not pinned together like the old GC I or II. The cushions are on a funny angle. They are not sharp and flat like the GC cushions.
He gave the table away and I found him a used GCI for around $2100. He only paid around $2800 for the Murrey.
