Murrell--Hoppe pro conversion

This is one outstanding cue Kenny built for me.
The cue is still full spliced under the wrap.
Joint, inlays and ferrules are ivory. Piloted joint. The butt cap is derlin. The wrap is a ringtail lizard that Steve Klein was gracious enough to sell to me for the project.

The cue was sold to me as being ebony. As it turns out it was'nt. Kenny believes the cue is either desert ironwood or a very dark pernambucko. He leaned more towards the ironwood. In either case, not a common wood for a Hoppe.

One interesting note about the cue. The gentleman I purchased it from said the cue had been shown to both R. Haley and J. Showman at I believe Hopkins about 2 years ago. They both passed on the project. The reason being, the forearm and veneers were completely separated from the butt.
The restoration work Kenny did is outstanding. The cue hits solid. No clicks or odd sounds.

Great looking cue once again! I'm not the biggest fan of the wrap, but I think it is a good choice for the cue. I have always wanted an ebony titlist or very dark titlist of some sort! If you happen to want to sell it....let me know!!

We must really like the same cuemakers as well! As you noticed, I'm having a titlist conversion done by Steve Klein. That titlist was actually damaged and all of the other cuemakers I talked to said that it couldn't be converted. Steve has done a fabulous job with it and is almost done! I have another titlist/Brunswick Model 26 1/2 cue that I'm going to be sending to Kenneth Murrell....even have talked the design out with him. Hmmm....I wonder what cue you will show next! If you post one by Jerry Rauenzahn....we are really going to have a serious talk about cuemakers!

Unfortunately I dont have any of Jerry's cues as of yet. However he is on the top of my list. I have 3 BBC plated cues from the 20's and 30's that I want restored at some point. They are straight as an arrow. He and Rubino have a great talent for that. Check the JK Marshal thread.

I also have a very dark rosewood Hoppe conversion by Kenny. Its a Bushka style replica. This one has stainless joint and is still full spliced under the linen wrap. Its a classic design. If you like I will post it.

Both Kenny and Steve are superb people to work with. Lots of talent and both like a good challenge.

I recently purchased a cue from Kenny...and i must say it is one of the best hitting cues i have ever owned. I am currently in the process of putting together a design to commission Kenny for another cue.

Please do! I'd love to see it! My avatar is actually a progress photo from Jerry Rauenzahn on my cue he is working on. I'll be glad to post pictures of both the Klein and Rauenzahn cues when I get them in.

Will do.
I'll have it up shortly.

Roland Garcia, If you have enough money to buy more cues you can pay me the $1,000.00 that you owe me. Anyone can ask Cueaddicts about you. Bob Corcoran from MD. #301-351-5178
