I founs a Murrey table, it says Murrey professional series down the side, it has adjustable legs and incased drop pockets, the felt is ruff and it's an 8ft . I don't really know anything about murrey tables are they any good, where do they stack up on the list of table companies? I kinda got taken on my current table so I am working on getting more educated before the next purchase, The guy is asking 400 my gutt says offer 200 but my gutt doesn't know much about Murrey tables so...

Murrey tables are not bad. It's been a while since I worked on one, and I think there were issues with it but most of the ones I've had to make repairs to have been in environments like youth centers where they get ABUSED. I've done a couple of their home tables that had no problems and actually had some really cool unique designs.

For the price, I don't think you'll be unhappy if the table is in good condition. Make sure you look at it ahead of time. You won't be able to tell anything about stripped out hardware/cross-threaded bolts, or things like that, but you should be able to tell in general how well the table was maintained.

If you've already got a table, don't be in a rush to replace it. Make sure if something doesn't look quite right, or you're not sure about a table, take the time to do the research and hold out for something you KNOW you will be happy with. This one could be a great deal if the condition is good.

Good luck!

Not a mechanic but a friend of mine used to have the Color of Money Murrey table.
I knocked it down when he bought a Gold Crown.
I always wondered why his Murrey table had an ugly sound when balls hit the cushion I hard.
When I unbolted the rails, I found out the bolts do not go through the slates.
So, the rails clamped down on wood past the slates.

Thanks for the info and advise guys, i will definetly look at it closely to make sure it doesn't have any problems and also make sure i get a well built table this time.

If you're looking for an awesome table (but not dirt cheap) I have a 9' AMF Grand Prix. It's their commercial table. The rails are bolted THROUGH the slate. It has 3 piece slate and weighs 1400 lbs.
