my 6yr old has gamble!!

hes a competitive kid, likes to win.

but on the note of learning easy money and teaching him to gamble, around here we have chores and they get 50 cents - dollar per chore. and when we get pizza or toys whatever i explain to them that that pizza would cost you 18-36 chores, they go what! i have 4 kids so when the pizza bill comes it more like 60-120 chores they really freak.

so they have a vakue of what money is worth.

but the ither day when he got me on the ufc stuff i think he learned the old saying
"money won is twice as sweet as money earned"
and its so true lol ive been gambling since i was 15 and ive always stood behind the "if you cant afford to loose dont bet"

needless to say with 4 kids i dont much anymore.

mainly it was a funny moment i thought i would post to the AZ community, i didnt realize it would start a rucus.

PS did i mention the kid plays like a SL 2 in the APA at 6yrs old with under 1yr experience i told him when he BNR's his first rack he can design a cue any way he dreams and ill build it for him with the date of his first BNR inlayed in the cue.

are you implying that if someone learns about gambling early on they will have no success and be a bad parent???

i think its more of how you teach them something, not what.

i have a 7yr old who is a red belt in karate has a national ranking and loves to spare, does that mean he will be a school bully and beat everyone up??

I think the difference is teaching about gambling and actually gambling with a child that is the distinction. Children shouldn't gamble.......period. Teaching them right from wrong is good.... assuming the teacher actually knows right from wrong and judging from some of the comments made here, there might be some doubts.

From what I've read Karate builds character. Being the school bully.. not so much. Plus sending your child to learn any sport is just a mite different that encouraging that child to gamble. Sorry no sale here.

honestly, your opinion means nothing to me and ill raise my children anyway i see fit, so unless people have a decent thing to say i would suggest stay out of the thread as there is another one to place shitty opinions with 5 or 6 pages and growing.:thumbup:

Great for you and your family,but remember we are all different,so something that makes u happy ,just mite not make me feel the same way!

Trent,dont let a couple of perfect living humans ruing your honest and fun thread,i say each his own,if u dont agree thats fine,but dont tell a man how he is suppose to raise HIS family!
 
I know just like everybody else here knows,we are as parents suppose to teach are children the rights and the wrongs,but some of us ,mite at times wander off of that path from time to time and venture into something that we as adults, know that this is not what we would want our kids to do,as in gambling,i believe if we show them ,by doing it with them,a time or 2,that they mite just get a better understanding,by doing it,then just hearing about something they should not ever be doing,then they can learn for theirselfs that this isnt good for them as they get older(LOSING MONEY FROM GAMBLING)u can teach children the best all u want,there is no guarentee they will not do things wrong as they age,but if they have some kind of past performance in some areas,then i believe that would lead them in the direction that is better for them,if they gamble with dad and lost their allowance for that week(when they were 7 years old)now they will remember that and would not want to do that again!i hope this makes sence to someone out there.
