Brent called it a turd, I call it fantastic!
I bought this hunk of crap off eBay for nine dollars under the impression it was a Brunswick. The eBay photos didn't show the ugly butt area of the cue only the Butterflies and points, for 9 bucks I couldn't lose right? This is what arrives days after the auction!
I got curious as to what was under that sweet looking Nylon wrap so I removed it to take a peek.
Me and Brent talk on instant messenger a bit and I told him I was sending him something *special* and to take extra care with it because I had so much invested in this cue and I couldn't live with myself if something happened to it.
A few days later he tells me that this is absolutely the best piece of Ramin wood (Cornstalk wood as he calls it) he has ever laid eyes on! He confirms that this is something special indeed! He then sends me this pictures telling there is no going back.
Nervous, I tried to not think about what he could be doing to this future family heirloom.
Days, weeks, months goes by and I completely forget about the cue altogether, that is until yesterday.
Yesterday I receive a package from Ohio and I remembered my "Diamond in the Rough" I sent to BHQ headquarters.
Not being able to stomach what might be inside I make my wife open the triangle USPS box. This is the results of what she found inside.
I'm in shock! Brent I think you shipped me somebodies else's cue instead of the "Turd" as you so affectionately called it, I sent to you!
In all seriousness, I couldn't be more pleased of Brent's work, he has again out done himself. To those that don't know, Brent (stix4sale) does outstanding work for exceptional prices. Definitely keep your eye on this guy before he gets a big head and none of us can afford his work.
We took this cue out yesterday afternoon and after a little minor maintenance (tip work) it plays jam up considering it is a nine dollar cue made out of Balsa wood.
The White and Green Irish Linen is top notch! Smooth as a babies butt which surprised me. I have played with a few other of Brent's cue and none had a wrap, I just figured he wasn't comfortable doing wraps but this cue has changed that opinion.
I would however change the white on the shaft collar to black to math the joint but other then that this is a Picasso made from a finger painting!
Thanks again Brent, cant wait to see what is next!
