My aiming system: the Waterboy system.

I've been reading aiming threads for some time now. It got me to thinking, 'how DO i aim?'

Now I've read and understand all the methods, but don't use them. Instead, I've got my 'waterboy' system (thanks, henry winkler's character).

Step 1: Visualize.

Step 2: Attack.

I know it's time to shoot when I can see the whole shot happening in my head like a video. Now, this system isn't for beginners! It really helps to know how to hit every shot there is ;-)

Anyone else use this system? I bet some pros do (paging mr strickland).

Hi there,

This is basically how it is for everyone that plays well and gets their body in line correctly and has the eyes in the proper position.

When the eyes are in the correct position is when everything looks so good. This can be taught and is by many teachers around the world. Unfortuanately most players get their eyes in the correct position by repetition. This takes hours and hours of repetitive shooting. Some call it feel.

Doesn't it make more sense to just know where to have the eyes for sure like with the sights on a rifle than just trying to guess with feel. Not being able to line the sights up on a rifle would be pretty devastating especially if someone was shooting at you.



There is only one spot to have the eyes to see each and every shot correctly. Once you can get there on every shot it's so sweet.

I specialize in getting the eyes in the Perfect position so there is no guess work. Once the eyes are there other things just seem to fall into place. Plus the balls just seem to fall into the hole better.

Gene I just had to ask if your alignment technique works differently than what is found in Answers to a Pool Player's Prayers by Richard Kranicki? I have used his mirror procedure but I was not really pleased. Pretty sure it WILL work at the proper distance.

I am the mutant that posted awhile back about zero convergence in my vision. I am still looking for some test to establish overlap before I can get an exact alignment over the aim line.

This book has got some good stuff in it but it never tells anyone how to fix the problem that we have with aiming. just more info on where this is and where that is.

I had some players kind of accuse me of learning my stuff from this book. So I bought it to see why they thought this. Not even close. This is good info but not really any answer. You still have to try to figure things out on your own. Figure,figure and more figuring. Guessing, guessing and more guessing.

I'm not slamming this book because they do have alot of good info but there is no answer.

With Perfect Aim you need to know the dominant eye. Then you need to know how to keep it in the dominant position. I teach a technique to do this that nobody else in the world is teaching.
