My bridge is way longer than I thought it was

I watched a few videos I took of my son and me playing, posted one up on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFBzXAXuuy8&feature=youtu.be

My bridge is way longer than I thought it was, very interesting that once you see how you play from the outside, it does not match what you see and feel at the table.

PS, if you watch this ignore the miss on the 5, I did that so my son would shoot :) We recorded our race to 3 on the Diamond 7' table in the back room at The Billiards Cafe in Ayer MA.

Watch how he gets shape from the 7 to the 8 towards the end, pretty good for a barely 13 yr old  But of course I'm biased.

Most of your shots are bridging from the rail, hence it's really difficult to grasp the normal length of your bridge.

It just happened to be that way in that video, but the others were a bit too chopped up to post. After looking at some of the shots, here were a few that I could have shot with my hand on the slate, but only from re-watching it again in video.

I'm guessing he 7' table vs 9' would have something to do with it also. Next time we play I'll have to record us on a 9 footer.

7 to the 8 was a great positional shot especially from a 13 year old.

And WOW......you have TWO pool tables at the house???

Maniac (the family that plays together, stays together!!!)

I wish, it's The Billiards Cafe in Ayer. The owner bought a new Diamond table just so the league players have a 7 footer to practice on, but it's not really used. My son likes it so we play on it at times when the main room gets too crowded with drunk 20somethings.

My son is saving up his money to buy a pool table for the house though, we were watching the Mosconi Cup live and when the US lost, he said "just wait 5 years!". His goal is to make the Cup team. I'm lucky he has such and interest and ability in the game, makes going out to play a lot easier, instead of telling the wife "I'm going to play", I can say "I'm taking Alex to go play" hehe.
