My DCC Impression

I'm having a blast

I loved the Executive West because it seemed like such a fitting setting for a pool tournament. The hotel was a bit shabby, but it had alot of soul and there was something stately about it. Perfect pool environment.

That said, this place is tremendous. Those of you carping about the walk are right -- there's lots of walking. But they also offer shuttles, moving sidewalks and other benefits. I'm always so pumped I walk all of it and it feels great, helps me maintain my sobriety (I've been drinking non-stop) and I truly enjoy it.

The hotel staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. This place is pricey, yes, but I feel I'm getting my money's worth. And they allowed to to keep a cooler of beer in my room. Tried that once in Mexico and got thrown out.

One disappointment, though, is the AZ room. Too tiny, nobody hanging out. I was in there last night at 3 a.m. and asked some guy who the room goon was and he looked at me like I was crazy. Nobody was talking about the board and I didn't see the promised name tags and such. Tables were all in action.

Wondering if I can get my dough back?

Charlie must have moved to Alabama...

Awesome! Charlie, if that's true, grab a beer and your sister. Let's head off to the mud races!

Or maybe Charlie was just waiting for Corey Deuel... or Blair Thein.
