Got to see my cue in the works today.:) It had the first coat on it is all so far, but here is the bottom 1/3 of the cue (the butterfly portion). Can't wait to get it and play with it!

It's going to be a wrapless butterly hustler with ebony/curly maple/thuya burl/curly maple butterfly going into the cocobola/cocobola points with the top finished of in curly maple. It will also have ivory diamonds at the base of the points and cocobola/ivory spears at the tips of the points.

I'll update the pics as soon as she's done.

Wish I could see the whole cue but the lower 1/3 is coming along very well. Love the work that I have seen by Pat and I am sure this cue will be a nice looking cue as well.

Thanks for posting...

What pin is it getting?

Looks just like one of mine...

I'm having him put in a radial pin joint.

I have seen a few somewhat similiar Diveney butterfly hustlers, but like any custom, no 2 will be exactly the same. The thing I really liked about the cocobola wood he was using was that is has a very distinct heavy grain to it with a very distinctive knot on the other side of the butterfly. It definitely adds to it's "character".:D

I'm not having any ringwork done on this one, but I will have it done on my next one I get in a few years.

I might get to pick her up on Saturday! Will post pics shortly.
Looking forward to seeing the finished cue.

Maybe while you are there, you can see my cue in the works...
Ebony 4-pointer with BEM forearm, hoppe ring in the butt with a G10 radial pin.

Man, that's a nice looking cue. What did you go with for shaft diameter, weight of the overall cue and tip?

Are you putting a 314 on this one too?

Yes the cocobola has some very intense figure to it. :D The butt weighs in @ 15.5 oz and the Predator shaft is 3.3 oz. Shaft diameter is about 12.8 mm.
