It all reeks of liquor and recreational activities, like so many greats have succumbed too over the years in the pool rooms. We'll get through this. Barry laid the groundwork.....but it's time for him to ''walk away'' to LEAVE the pool room behind, and let the industry embrace and recreate/develop and implement a new real US Open w/o the other issues.

I heard the Billiard Radio broadcast except for the last few minutes.

Barrys done some bad deals for sure and some of that overshadows the good he has done and thats a shame. Its nearly a waste of time to go into the details of what makes his event not work vs. SBE that does work but who is going to take over if he doesnt do it? I dont know of anyone that wants to book a loser for the kind of cash he comes up short, hoping things will work out.

Players go back to their 3rd world countries and it is Mr. Behrman's responsibility to track them down and pay them? The greatest players from these countries are on video shooting pool with chickens running around and I am expected to believe they have banks and western unions? It took Rambo and 5 mercinaries to find people there in the last Rambo film, i know Mr Behrman doesn't have those resources available to him.

As far as the VIP seats. Mr Behrman moves the tournament every year to provide optimal conditions for players AND fans alike. Because a given venue cannot accomodate all the fans is that Mr. Behrman;s fault? And who doesn't love a good game of musical chairs? Let your hair down and eat some fruit. You are way too stressed over this.

You are trying to turn an International competition into an International incident? Since you got the DA and foriegn countries involved, I say your next move is Nato and the UN.

Mr. Barry Behrman runs the most prestigeous tournament in the greatest country on earth. He needs to know there are legions of fans out here who appreciate and support him.

What other large pool tournaments have this same problem of not paying players at the completion of the event?

Derby?
Any other tournaments or Promoters?

Escrow the players money prior to the event PERIOD.
If you don't have the funds don't put so much added money in. According to CJ it's not needed they will come and play for free just for the sake of the title being the US OPEN champ. Being paid would obviously be a bonus.

I will no longer support this event as a fan by paying for the PPV. It may affect Accu-Stats who produces the PPV event and Barry but so be it. I am a business person and you have to support the integrity of the sport. Barry is not doing this in my opinion and not paying players 2-3 months after the event is just not acceptable period.

The Greatest Event

My first year to the US Open was 2006 at the Chesapeake Convention Center and I thought to myself, why aren't more Pool Leagers here?

There are reasons I guess that the Pool League people dont even let their people know about events like this but they should.

Events like this should be revered by all Pool Players but when you go and you cant get a seat to see a match that kind of ruins things for you, then you stop going, and the vendors stop selling and nothing works right. I think VIP seating in and of itself has contributed to a decline in the event rather than an increase overall.
