My first attempt at making JP's

These are my first joint protectors. I made them to match my Frey titlist, I'm very pleased with how they turned out. I used some straight grain maple coring stock, some thin veneer from cueveneer, camel bone as an ivory substitute, and I matched the point wood as close as I could with brownheart. I had to make a veneer cutting jig, and a veneer press similar to Bob Dzuricky's, only I made mine an all in one press and cutting jig. So thank you Bob for the tutorials and pics on your sight. Also I have to thank Cris Hightower for the suggestion of camel bone for an ivory substitute. I do have to say that these things are a pain in the ass to make, and after I'm done with a set that are in the works for a break cue I made for myself, I think I'll retire from making JP's. I enjoyed making my break cue way more than these JP's. Anyway, here are the pics. there not perfect, but close.:grin: Any coments good or bad are welcome.
