My First Major

I just got back from my first one pocket tourney of all time. I had the honor of shooting with Cliff Joyner, in my first one pocket match of all time. This was a very humbling experience.

I also shot my first high stakes ten ball tourney and I really liked the experience. I never won one match in either part of the tourney, 10 ball or one pocket. I didn't make money, I am officialy humbled. I am going to play a few more and see if I cant catch on. I wasn't entirely lost I just kept hitting the ball in the wrong spot.

I got put out of the ten ball tourney by Mike Davis. Should have maybe got a couple more games out of him. Learning is going to be fun, I had a couple of jump shots and Mike let me use his jump cue since I didn't have one. This resulted in two ball in hands for him...I bought a jump cue the next day.

I lost to two Mike's, Mike from NY,NY put me out of the one pocket. After a lost to Cliff Joyner in the first game of one pocket in the tourney.

It was fun playing pool again. Dennis got to come down and watch a few matches, he even sold a couple of cues. So far on this trip things have went well. We are calling it the No Smoking Tour 2008.
See you on the road.

And to think it only took you three years to get to this point from when I met you. ;-)

There was a time when you belittled pool players for not taking up a "real" discipline.

Good to see that you are willing to put that awesome stroke to use.

Jamison. It sounds like you are now officially "hooked". You kinda jumped into the deep end there, but if you are going to get wet, you might as well get soaked.
Best of luck to you. Hope to see you around one of these days.
Steve

Welcome to higher level Pool, it is humbling, huh?

Mike from NY is Mikey Wong, a real nice guy. He shoots a lil slow at times (teasin ya, Mikey) and I think he doesn't play one pocket either, so you guys shoulda had a good match.

Keep at it, Jamison!
