I just wanted to share pictures that I got my wife to take of my Kompan Bubinga cue. The cue features bubinga ringwork at A B C D and E along with a bubinga handle and butt. The piece used for the handle and butt is considered of museum quality. I believe that this cue from Jack Kompan today would be quite a bit more money as he has raised his prices and this wood is harder to come by. The forearm is of birdseye maple and it even has a character spot of a worm hole that came out on the final turning. Instead of replacing it, Jack just left it in, as it does indeed add a bit of a oddity to the cue and does not affect the playability of the cue.

I really like the feel of this cue, 3/8-10 wood to wood, 60" long, 20 ounces, very well balanced. The joint protectors were made by Kenny Murrell and were purchased seperately, but they match the cue very well I believe. Two shafts with brand new H2 layered tips thanks to a buddy of mine from AZ here.

Nice cue there, Shorty. Those wood rings like that surrounded by thin silver kind of remind me of a Buss.

HA HA...thats funny, yeah my floor is pretty. You should see my mahogany pool table against the floor...man o man is it pretty.

Actually I do occasionally like a wrapless cue. It really depends on my playing conditions. If I have a nice clean table or mild temperatures, I don't mind a wrapless cue. If things are a bit more dirty or my hands are sweatty, I prefer my lizard wrap on my Schon.

I think the cue is kinda ugly, but I really did enjoy the write up LOL.

glad to see you still like the cue I traded you shorty. Jack will soon come out with a new batch later on this month. He still had some cues but none as desirable as that. I like the JP's you added to it. really adds character. (kicking self for trading...lol) Glad to see you like it shorty. Good luck with the cue.

Hey shorty that cue is a pretty one.Every one who saw it when I put the new layered tips on loved it.You should have took a picture of the way jack does his signature I thought it was kinda cool.
