Just delivered this latest cue.

It's a Break Jump cue with a curly maple forearm (cored with purpleheart for stiffness) and cocobolo buttsleeve and cocobolo section above the wrap. The butt cap, joint are black fiber. Silver rings and a textured black leather wrap. It has a radial pin and a quick lock pin (jump section). The shaft is flat laminated (21 plies), ferrule is LBM and the tip is the White Diamond (from mister Joe Picone. These are the absolute best tips available for break and jump cues in my opinion). The cue comes with matching JP's. Cue is 19.1 ounces.

Enjoy...

Why use PH and metal joint? It will increase weight and make it difficult to jump closer ball.

It will have better control on distance ball though.

Hi Icem3n,

Thank you so very much for your comment. It really is a valid point which makes it worth the testing with other materials.

The cue doesn't have a metal joint. The joint is black fiber. Just the Radial pin is metal. But you're right about the weight... I have just made a Break Jump cue with a G10 Radial pin and I'll be able to test that cue in a few days. If it jumps easier than the metal Radial pin and if it doesn't wear too much, I will switch to G10.

The customer tried this cue out and he was able to jump a ball just two inches away from the cueball. That seems very acceptable to me, especially considering that he had the cue for just ten minutes. But maybe if I use a G10 pin, he would be able to jump a ball from a closer distance.

Thanks again for the valid point. I'll try it out and keep you posted...

Very best regards,

Tom Penrose

Very nice. The short collars & silver rings are a nice touch. Pretty coco, too. You give total weight... Per icem3n's comments - it would be interesting to note the weight of the shaft & jump portion separately. I'm curious what the purple heart core contributed to the weight/balance equation...

It's a Break cue with a bird's eye maple forearm and cocobolo buttsleeve and cocobolo points above the wrap. A nice sneaky pete. The butt cap, joint are black fiber. Silver rings and a textured black leather wrap. It has a G10 radial pin (with courtesy to icem3n...). The shaft is flat laminated (21 plies), ferrule is LBM and the tip is the White Diamond (from mister Joe Picone. These are the absolute best tips available for break and jump cues in my opinion). The cue comes with matching JP's. Cue is 18.9 ounces.

It's a Playing cue with a bird's eye maple forearm and butt sleeve. The double diamonds in the butt sleeve and the double points in the forarm are made of ebony. In the ebony (about 1/16" thick) is inlayed some very nice and very dark cocobolo just because I wanted the buyer to notice the subtle difference when he will look at the cue from close distance. The butt cap, joint are black fiber. Silver rings and a textured black leather wrap. It has a Radial pin. The shafts are flat laminated (21 plies), ferrules are ivory and the tips are Moori Soft. These are the absolute best tips available for Playing cues in my opinion). The cue comes with matching JP's. Cue is 19.1 ounces.

The cue was pictured while tested. Sorry for the dirty tips and shafts...
