I wanted a table to practice on during the weekend when minding our Vintage store. So I pulled up Offer Up and found this... it is a 6 ft 1962 Irving Kaye. Slate is level but the rails pockets cloth etc need work. Thinking of getting the corners rechromed. Depends on what it costs. The guy sold it to me for 50 bucks and it is a perfect size for the shop and to do drills on... I will keep posting pics of the progress if you all are intersted.

Is it me, or are there only two diamonds on the bottom rail?

And scorers on the side rail? Why, I never...

No it is not you... that is what they have on the mark I and II... Counters are in pretty good shape. Just need a bit of cleaning.

Here is a picture of the rail and pocket liner. I believe they are original. The subrails are solid so I won't have to redo those. I hear the pocket liners are a challenge to get.

Have fun, John! Those Irving Kaye tables often made me want to quit before I ever got started!!!

Great little table IMHO and perfect for your purposes.

I bet you'll have it fixed up and playing soon.

I find this is the fun part. I just hope the chrome will not be too expensive. I could go with powder coat but I read it looks like "a bag of smashed a$$holes"

Powder coating done properly looks great. You have a lot of color options too. Good luck with your project!

Been doing a bit more research. Powder coating looks to be the way to go. Getting the corner caps done with chrome would be about 800 with prep work. I would much rather put that into better cloth or rails.

Got the cushion off the rail and it looks to be in pretty good condition. The cloth was extremely thin. Looks like it has only been replaced 3 times by the staple marks. My table has had 3 recovers in the last 17.
