My lesson with Dan Louie

Dan Louie showed me a killer shot that is going to be in the next On the Wire publication. Definitely check it out. It works and is a must know as it definitely is a shot that comes up.

I have paid for 4 other lessons in my life and this 2 hour lesson was by far the best. To give you an idea of my speed, I'm a 9 in my Bca league and I had the 2nd highest amount of wins last session.

After having either won or placed in the past 5 little bar tournaments people were able to talk me into thinking I was good. I was completely humbled yesterday.

I asked Dan if we could spend an hour on 8 ball and an hour on 9. I would break a 9 ball rack and take ball in hand and he would tell me what his master plan would be. First he would have me share my plan then he would explain what he would do and WHY. He explained why his options had a bigger margin of error.

When it would be a pro type shot that I don't have he would have me shoot it 3-7 times until I had it. This is what I have always wanted in a lesson.

If you are around a b level player I recommend a lesson with the nearest pro just like I had with Dan.

Dan has got to be one of the humbler World Champions on the planet.

I will do it again next month for sure. I'm sure the lessons will pay for themselves. Pm me for his number if you want his number.
 
I am using an iPhone so I can't use cuetable nor do I want to steal his thunder. It's a 9 ball shot that wins the game when it doesn't seem possible. I can make it whenever I show someone and he invented it. Very makeable and comes up. Watch for it in On the Wire. He has a column in there now.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Many of us have had the chance to shoot around a bit with Dan Louie in the AZB room at DCC - he often would come their to warm up before his matches. He is a great player, very humble, and has a truly professional attitude. Definitely one of my favorites to watch. You are lucky to have such a resource available.
 
Is there an online version of On The Wire? Their website looks like it's not so well maintained.
