My Most Impressive Foul Ever...All Time...

Very impressive KC. Like you stated, I have seen some lazers but nothing to the magnitude of being that high in the air or that distance!

If the break was dry, I would have argued to your opponent "play it as it lies" from that table, right.:D

I have done some of the miscue draws that rocket of the table but nothing to compare to some of you guys stories. Where's the video camera when you need it!

The kitty is funny.
I have told this story once before but will tell it again.....FUNNY.
About 10 years ago, having drinks, playing pool,I go to break, whitey goes straight up in the air about 4 feet,my buddy happens to be walking by and with a full swing tries to catch the ball. But with the full swing, the cue ball goes through his fingers and launches it straight to my mouth.
I drop to the ground thinking I have lost ALL OF MY teeth, but to my amazement no teeth missing but had to go to hospital for 5 stiches on the inside upper lip and the biggest fat lip ever.
Kinda funny but at the time it was'nt.lol

Keep shooting!

Ok I DID do that- one time many years ago!

Funniest thing ever- It gets better!

I was playing on a table that was near another table lined up side by side. There was another game in progress at the same time as mine.

I line up my shot, a pretty straight shot in the side pocket. I call " 5 in the side" go to shoot, well I hit it terribly and miscue while shooting draw, the cueball jumps up lands on the other table AND MADE THE 5 BALL IN THE SAME SIDE POCKET ON THE OTHER TABLE!!

Unbeleivable. I made the exact shot that I called, just on the other table!

Of course, the way I figured it- it was still my shot!!:eek:

I would have let you shoot.......but from where the cue ball was! :grin-square:

It's hard to tell what you did without seeing a vid of it, seeing the arc of teh CB, etc.

My guess, assuming that it really did hit the 1 ball squarely, is that you inadvertently had follow on the CB and that the CB happened to bounce & be in mid air when it hit the head ball.

Another good indication of how squarely you hit the rack would be the spread and movement of the balls (assuming it was a tight rack).

Maybe you should post a Youtube vid of a few break shots?

Hi Eric;

I am currently looking into getting a camera setup for my rec room so I can record some play.

Anyone have any suggestions on what camera to use for good quality at a reasonable price? Also, is ther a difference in what equipment to get if I ever want to stream?

Probably I should post a new thread for this.

Best,

meow...

Careful what you say about my illustration kitty, guys.

Notice her front legs are like swords and she's not afraid to use them...

Kinda like skipping a rock on a lake. With a small amount of below center hit and a powerful break the CB was in the air when it hit the one ball.

As I remember there was a guy in Youngstown, OH many years ago who perfected the technique and used it often. He broke from center table, hit the light above the table and brought the CB back to the table for his next shot. Impressive, but tough on the equipment.

Oh Yeah, his shot was not a foul and he often pocketed a ball and kept his turn at the table.

Hi Joe;

Very possible that my cue is skipping it's way to the head ball but it truly mystifies me how this happened twice in one night and never before. And I was playing that same table last night doing all of my usual routine break shots with no similar cue ball launching results.

Who also is proficient at making the cueball go straight up like your Youngstown guy is "Hillbilly" Bryant.

I broke from just off the headstring right cushion and watched in amazement as whitey crashed into the one-ball (pretty squarely, I must say) then launched

This indicates the CB was in the air when it impacted the 1 ball (and that the CB has big velocity). The CB was more than a dime thickness in the air, and less than two nickles in the air based on the trajectory.

Brian,

Most modern point & shoot digital cameras have video capabilities which you can record and upload to your computer. A $300 digital camera is more than adequate for what you want to do.

Thanks Eric. What I am wondering is whether there is a difference in what type of camera might be used for possible future streaming as well as basic video recording.

I'm going to pose this question on a seperate thread. Maybe I can get some brand/model specific suggestions.

Best,
