Think he actualy said, "Mr. HoneyCut, What we have here is a faaiilluurre to communicate." We just need to "get our minds right."

Cool Hand Luke was Filmed in the Sacramento Delta (Northern CA)

Well, you managed to drag out the "failure", but he also kind of hurried up the "communicate". How do you do that in typed text?

"Cool Hand Luke" is quite possibly my favorite film of all time, right up there with "On The Waterfront". I've always wondered if I was I reading in to it, but I thought Luke was constantly being shown as a Christ symbol.

George Kennedy Won an Oscar for Support Character for his Character "Dragline" in Cool Hand Luke.... :o Back in the good Old Day, Actor Could ACT, and did not need all the hollyWEIRD Special Effects of Movies made in 2005..... ;)

Also two of my favorites. Newman is great. But, damn, Brando was the man in his day. IMO his performance in "On The Waterfront" might be the greatest film performance ever. And, yes, I agree that Newman is shown as a Christ like figure in some scenes- especially lying on the table after eating the eggs.

But ...

I never cared that much for Brando until he got older. He always sounded like
he had a bucket of mush in his mouth when he talked.

But, who can forget that satisfied triumphet goofy smile on Paul Newman's face when he was done eating the 50th egg? That was priceless ....
About when everyone is saying there is no way that shot can be made in
Pool, and someone steps up and makes it ....

The "official" story is that it was just acting and muscle control. Always seemed to me that he had a belly full of something! Maybe he only ate one or two eggs but after fifty "takes" to get it right? :D
