I'll probably end up sending it to Ryan to get the wrap done... Maybe smooth brown. I don't like the way lizard feels, but it would look awesome.
I would have photographed it with the other shaft but I had already packed it away in my spare case to make room for the OB-1. I had one shaft taken down to 12.75 for free. Thanks Martin!

I played with this cue for about 4 hours last night and I am extremely pleased. I played for about an hour with the original shaft and then about three hours with the OB-1.
The original shaft felt fantastic and had very lively feedback. I don't like the longer ferrule though, so I will probably have it shortened or replaced (deflection is about the same as my 12.95mm Josey, and this one is 12.75mm). I played even better with the OB-1 because it's easy to adjust to neglegent deflection

Yes the ferrule was modified by ratcues. It's the same ferrule that came with the shaft but cut down to 1/4 inch. I requested this to reduce the end-mass of the cue as much as Ryan was willing. My end-goal was to reduce deflection as much as possible while keeping the feel of a solid maple shaft. The diameter was also reduced to 12.2mm which helped. It plays 10 times better for me now and I LOVE the feedback.
I agree it would be better that way but I'm not picky as long as the points are sharp and straight. I ran a few racks of 9-ball at lunch today and really pissed off the old guy I was playing. He missed and I ran out or safed him extremely well. It's safe to say I've reached my B-level. I was a C or even a C- a couple months ago... if I keep improving like this I may be good enough by October to maybe make a little money
