Thanks Av,

I was told by someone at Ernie's shop when I picked up the cue that I needed to win my 1st match with it for good luck. I said "no problem, I'll play my sister"....:) He said no it needs to be a real match. Soooo, I played 3 races to 9 against my usual rival, a fellow AZ"er who I'll allow to remain unnamed and won all 3, threatening to shut him out in one of the races. Needless to say it bodes well for my luck and more importantly confirms what I had hoped, which is that it hits as good as it looks!

Loving my new cue and and all the nice comments.

Berny,

Yes, everything white is ivory, the ring below the points is very white in person, I think because the grain is going the other way, amplified by the flash, perhaps it looks a different color, but it is all beautiful pre-ban ivory.

Joe

i know alot about ivory and Ernies ivory is 100% legit, i looked at the tusks carefully and you can tell by their color among other things they are old-meaning they were harvested long ago way before the ban, also most poached ivory goes to Asia anyways. Ernies is Botswana ivory-you can tell that by the dimensions of the tusks, different areas have different shaped tusks, Botswana and Zimbabwe are best for cues because they are short fat tuske, Up north in Tanzina the tusks are long and thin with long nerve canals thus the ivory is thinner and its a bit more brittle, Keyna has the nicest looking tusks for display. its still legal to bring ivory in from Africa on a CITIES permit, except from Moszimbique-they wont let you export to america. All CITIES ivory has serial numbers engraved on the tusks and on the permit that travels with it.

more importantly congrats !!!!!! what a cue!!!!! Ernie amazes me with his work, my "fancy" Ginacue is with Bill Grassley "Cornerstonecues" at some thing back east-i loaned it to him to be the "Big" cue in his booth, I also saw some of Ernies up comming cues.....WOW. Barry Szam said "Ernie is probably the most talented cue maker alive" thats a strong statment.

have Ernie build you another cue:D

enjoy,

Wow - that is an incredible piece of art and a great looking cue.
Love the two colorful joint rings on the shaft and having a playing shaft is a great idea.

Thanks for posting pictures and enjoy the cue.

No problem, just look at post #13......lol:D

I remembered when you told me last night how much you spent for this cue...Do you know Ernie charged me $4000 less of what you paid for this one..only the shafts are plain and without any designs.

can you tell me how can i order a gina?
i want to order mine soon...;) ;)

Ernie does have e-mail. ginacue@yahoo.com

I use to ask him him to send me his brochure every other year or so, and he sends it out to me via e-mail.

Having said that, if you are asking him to make you a custom cue and you want to talk about it, do call him. Very friendly, helpful guy. We talked at length about my custom cue (see my avatar), and he was great.
