Well, I just picked up my new Ginacue, I'm sooooo excited and happy with it I can't wipe the smile off my face. As you can see in the following pictures I ended up chosing the elephant trunk hide for the wrap. It has 3 shafts, 2 of them with the inlays and 1 "players" shaft. OK, now I gotta post these pics so I can go try it out!!! I couldn't decide if the pics were better with or without the flash so I posted some of each. I apologize for the pics, I play just like I take pictures.....not so good......

Let me know what ya think....

Joe

Ralf,

As requested here it is screwed together, the pictures are even worse than usual (horrible) I'll take some better ones in some better light. Ernie's attention to detail is unreal, you'll notice even the 4 longest "points" in the shaft line up perfectly with the 4 Ivory points in the butt...that is true for both the inlaid shafts....:)

Brandon,

Thanks man....I asked Ernie about your cue (he speaks fondly of you) and even though I don't think he has started on it yet, it sounds like you are in a select few. He said when he gets back in town the first week of April, he will finish about 4 cues ( I assume yours among them) and then will be working only on a single order for a small handful (3 or 4 I think) of cues the balance of the year.

We can only IMAGINE what 3 cues that he spends 8 months on will look like!!!! Can't wait to see those!

Good luck,

Joe

Wow

Not normally a fan of "fancy" cues but man that is incredible, lots of work went into that cue. Congratulations, enjoy it!!

I'm kinda the same but it just "evolved" into fancy...I was also lucky enough ( and ernie was kind enough to let me) to watch every step of the build....anybody who thinks because he has such exotic equipment it's easy should sit for all the hours I did and see the truth. I was lookin' for a time clock to "punch in" every morning....at minimum wage *I* woulda done ok....lol Their are over 1,000 pieces I'm sure, and each one gets his undivided attention to detail, along with 40+ years of experience learning every day. The experience was incredible and the result...well...DEVINE

Hey Joe,

i love your cue ... very very nice :)

Only one question if you don't mind.
Is that white ring underneath the ivorypoints also ivory.
It looks little yellowly than the points ... is it just the light ??

Enjoy your new Dreamcue buddy :)

Berny,

Yes, everything white is ivory, the ring below the points is very white in person, I think because the grain is going the other way, amplified by the flash, perhaps it looks a different color, but it is all beautiful pre-ban ivory.

Excellent .... i know sometimes its not easy to catch the right light for nice pics. Especially to show the awesome entire structure of ivory :)

What are the blue inlays? You have a very special cue. congrats.

The blue inlays are wood veneers, they run through out the cue and are black, blue, blue, black everywhere they appear.

Thanks for the kind words,

Joe

I just realized you might not have been referring to the veneers, but rather the blue under them which is an impregnated wood. The blue color is somehow impregnated into the wood and runs through it completely even when turned. Not sure how they do it, Ernie buys it that way in different colors.
