Courtesy of Gary Nolan AKA BUSHWHACKER. If I bought his cue for 1200 I would have thought I got a deal. But If gary has insurance I think he needs to file a claim for a stolen cue. :p :p :p I will most likely keep this cue for a quite a while. Unless of course someone offers me like a searing or something. Well, I love this cue and Love the weight, design, balance, wrap, and I'll be pressed to find anything i don't like about it.

Well hope you guys like it. I know I love it. I know this phrase is really worn out, but pics really don't do this cue any justice.

JIM Buss is lke the UNKNOWN CUE MAKER, he builds a GREAT CUE, but is not real well known, and if he was he would have a 7 year Wait.

Jim buss is very well known around my area but just not a big name. He doesn't have the exposure he should get. But believe me, sooner or later everyone will see what a great cue he makes and his cues will become high demand. Might be next year, might be 20 yrs from now. But I am happy with what I have right now.

nice

Jim is far from unknown. I have called him a few times he is always helpful. For 1200 I know I like everything about that cue. He has designed cues for the Smithsonian. I am a diehard Scruggs man but I will say besides a Herseck I would buy a Buss anytime a deal comes my way. You really got very lucky with that cue .Nice

Question about the Bumper

This cue doesn't appear to have a bumper, and honestly I've seen a lot of cues like that recently and I really like it. Just makes for a real clean looking piece. If yours doesn't have a bumper, what is filing the hole. I have a cue in the works, and I think I may go for no bumper.

Thanks

That's One Way I've Seen It

I've see the exposed screw, but I've also seen some that were either wood or ivory I think. Maybe even just a regular bumper that's been countersunk. The square look of the butt just looks great, so I guess I'll talk to my cuemaker and see what he suggests.

Hmmmm... you guys are pushing me to work out a deal for that Buss I have a line on.....

Praise for Jim Buss Cues

Jim has always been such a promoter of quality cue manufacture and of the sport of pool. As a former president of the American Cuemakers Association, he helped set up guidelines for all members in how to deal with customers and giving those customers a voice when conflicts arise. Although he works 50 hour weeks at Boeing as an engineer for the defense industry, he still works a lot of hours making quality cues. When he retires from Boeing I think you will see his name a lot more in the industry when he has the hours to devote to it. Jim has his shop 2 blocks from my store and I see him several times a week. Our conversations always turn to the sport of pool and things we can do to make it better...(this is after of course he gives me an update on the best internet jokes of the day!) He has a passion for the sport, that is rarely surpassed. Always thinking what can make cuemakers do a better job, what billiard parlor operaters can do to help business, what players can do. I look forward to the day he is full time in our industry building cues and promoting pool. I think we will all be better for it. He has a wealth of knowledge and fresh ideas!

No bumper is cool, but.....

you have to be extra careful with a cue that doesn't have a bumber. If you're one of those types who'll drop your cue butt first to the floor, it could cause some really costly damage to a really nice cue. At least that's what they say. :D

Yeah I was worried about that at first, but since I have taken out the cue to be played with, I have yet to drop it. I don't even let any one hit balls with it. Some little firl was in the pool hall the other day and I had it resting on the cue claw at the counter. And she just took it and was giong to go play with it. She must have only been about 4 yrs old. She was the owners daughter I think. I had to yank the cue out of her hands ever so carefully. I don'thave too many high end cues. I have the judd but I don't even take that one out of the case and I don't even take the case out of the closet. I don't want to put a scratch on that cue. This cue I absolutely love looks wise and playability. I will most likely hold on to this cue for a while
