My new playing cue

Here's one for 'ya.
Dufferin Phantom, $49 shipped from eBay.
18.45 oz., 13mm, straight.

Must have been a display/demo stick. When I got it and peeled off the 'Made in Canada' sticker the area it occupied was darker than the rest of the butt and the shaft had a few dings in it. I'm thinking it sat in the sunlight quite a bit.

Nothing fancy:

I put a joint collar on the shaft to distinguish it from a house cue, and put a Moori medium tip on it which I bought for $10 from a friend who sells them on eBay. I put the original ferrule back on after the Aegis II one I put on cracked.

So I've got about $60 into this and have just switched to this from my Scruggs sneaky on league nights!

Someone told me once that the hit you get from a cue is not only due to the maker, but has more to do with the qualities of the pieces of wood used to make the cue. I don't know what it is, but I shoot better with this cue that any of the others I own right now so I'm gonna use it!

I have a Dufferin SP with the signature joint, Goncalo alves into maple.
It's a great shooter and when dufferin were in business it was definitely one of the best buy for the money...

But in your case I would shoot with that beautiful Hsu sneaky you have...

I snap up the old wood to wood joint Dufferins whenever I can on eBay. I have 4 of them, the nicest of which has a butterfly splice on the butt and brown phenolic joint collars. I never had one with the aluminum/brass joint. That's a nice tip on yours!
