Rick is a great cue maker imo. hey Ken i didn't know you live in "tara hote" :D you're directly below me, albeit a 150 miles south. i'm in dyer or some like to say "dyr". someday we should cross paths and talk pool and cues.

Skins -

Come on down this weekend if you have time. There is a good benefit tourneyment at the Q club this weekend. It starts at 10 am and is going to be limited to the 1st 32 players at $40 each.

Tom Rossman, Mr Cue, is going to give an exibitition, so it will be a good time and will leave you free to cheer for the Colts on Sunday with the rest of the world (wow that should start some stone throwing).

Woody, stakehorse, christyd and several others from AZ will be there.

Tell you what if you show up, first beer is on me!

Your friend in pool,

Ken

I proly make it out to Ricks like once a week or so.... he is the only one in like a hundred mile radius that can do quality cue repairs... it always helps when the guy working on your cue is a total perfectionist and stands behind his work..

Does he still have that huge rottweiler?

Rick always treated me right when I was a poor young Airman stationed down there! Kind of stuff you don't forget.

Nice...although I always thought taht 6 point cues look a little odd wrapless...but, hey, whatever floats your boat! Guess it feels real good to those of who prefer it :)

Personally, I like the 6pt. purpleheart two to the left of yours...which is odd, as I usually don't like purpleheart -- its gotta be real dark and reddish-brown for me to like it...

But I guess my main point is Rick Howard makes a sweet cue! Congrats to all of y'all who have one...and I hope to join that list some day. :D

I also have an Ed Young that is 6pt and wrapless. I like them. :)

Speaking of wrapless cues, did you like them right away, or did it take a period of adjustment?

Also, would you say there is a big difference in feel? By feel, I don't mean the feel in your hands of not having a wrap. I'm talking about feeling the vibrations from the cue. I would think this would be the case, but aside from a house cue, I've never played with a wrapless cue... yet!!!

I like it a lot better. Less to think about for me. I have had about 30 cues in the past 24 months. The only thing that I like better than wrapless is Bender's irish linen wrap. That is flawless and perfect.
