Hi all,
I told Spankman I would post when I won my first tourney with the new Schon he sold me, and I did it after only two days. I shot the local military 8 ball tourney here in Baghdad, Iraq. About 16 people, single elimination 8 ball, bar rules. I know.. I know.. bar rules. Sheesh.
First opponent.. We lag, I lose, he breaks, makes nothing, I run out.
Second opponent.. We lag, I win... I break, make a ball, run 2 and safe. He misses his shot, I run out.
3rd and 4th opponents, no stellar play on either side. The tables had huge tears in the cloth taped up with green duct tape. (That's good s**t and you know it!) The cloth is quite loose, not stretched properly as it was put on.. And the pockets have the cloth folded over the corner facing.. Uggh. All shots must hit the center of the pockets, and if you expect to make a rail shot with good position, better have good patterns!
As it were, I was still consistently getting in the general area of where I wanted to play position.. The Schon does seem to move the ball around the table with ease.. Some shots I just don't have to hit that hard. The hit does not seem particular "stiff", as others have put it, but then again, I adapt to new cues fairly quickly.
I was thrilled.. I actually broke and ran a rack with this Schon the first day I shot with it! I'll try to get pics of the pool tables we were playing on, and you'll see that was no mean feat!
