My New Skip Weston!!!

Will queue for cues
Silver Member
I just got my new Skip in the mail today and let me tell you Skip is The Man!! This cue again exceeds all my expectations. I was out of town in training and got the e-mail from work that a package had arrived. I sped back to town and immediately picked it up and took it to the pool hall. I just had to hit with it...lol.

The cue feels very good in my hands and came out beautifully. I'm not sure the pictures do it justice, especially since I forgot to wipe my finger and hand smudges off of it before snapping a couple quick pics, but here it is:

WOW!! STUNNING!! Let me understand this, you got Skip to make custom jp's?? That is something in itself!! You have to change the felt on that table, it must play very slow..
GREAT LOOKING CUE!!

Beautiful Zack, just beautiful! Wait till you get your Fanelli to match up with it! Booyah!

Zack,

Awesome looking cue. Unique design and ring sets really set everything off. The shafts look nice and dark, too....bet they play sweet.

That is an amazing cue - if I ever get a custom made, I'll certainly ask you for design ideas. It is a perfect example that a cue doesn't have to be loaded down with ivory to be beautiful, but a little can really enhance a nice design. As beautiful as the forearm is, that butt is amazing (I guess I'm a butt man).

Thanks to everyone who has responded about the cue! It's always incredible to see something you conceptualized come into existance, especially when it's executed as well as this Skip. I'm always a little nervous about how a cue that I designed is going to come out since I try to come up with unique designs, even when I did my Southwest inspired cue...lol.

Sean, the shafts play great! They have too many growth rings to count...lol. I'm a little surprised that Skip was able to bring this cue in right at about 19oz as well.

I also decided to measure the points and they are as close to perfect as possible. They vary less than 1/32 of an inch between any two points or veneer levels!

Weston cue

Really nice cue. I love snakewood, ivory, and ebony together in a cue.

Zack, sweeeeeeeeeet! I guess we both had a good week! Haven't got to hit my new Skip yet, but, plan on doing that today! Glad that you got yours. I'll try and post pics when I can scrounge up a digital camera. Mine too exceeded my expectations. IMHO Skip is one of the best out there, in both construction and playability. Congratulations!

Gorgeous cue Zack, congrats!

I just picked up my Skip last night, so we are in the same state right now buddy. I can't stop looking at the cue, even while I'm down over a shot. Quite a distraction!

I've yet to post pictures of my first Skip, so now they can come up as a pair. Where's your Skip?

I'm not going to post anything until I get crystal clear images of these cues, so I'll be working on that all week, lol.

Roger - I have two of Skip's cues and love them both. My first one I had up for sale a few months ago and pictures are in the for sale section of AZB. It is a classic four point ebony with four veneers, maple, perobarosa, purple heart, and ebony, 5/16 X 14 steel joint, white with black speck linen wrap, and Hoppe ring in the ebony butt sleeve. The second I just received Wednesday, four point, cocobolo into curly maple, four veneers, maple, cocobolo, maple, cocobolo, white 3/8 X 10 faux ivory joint, short white faux ivory butt plate, cocobolo butt sleeve, stitch rings at the joint and just above the butt plate. The cocobolo in that cue has some of the gnarliest grain I've seen. Will post some pics when I can scrounge a digital camera. Chris.

I can't wait to see your Skips Roger! I love his work. I'm fighting back the urge to place another order...lol! As soon as I got this damn thing another design idea popped into my head. :D

Where are you now?

I LOVE classic 4 pointers done in Coco, and Skip has a great stock of wood so I'm sure he got you a very nice piece. We gotta work on those pictures bro!
