My Pay-it-Forward thread

This is a pretty cool idea for a thread. I'll throw my name in the hat.

My name is Leland, and I play out of The Downlo in Chico, CA.
My playing cue is a Bobby Hunter with an OB-2 shaft.

i was going to remind you, that you still "owe me one" - but then i remembered that we're square....

BUMP - cause you're doing a good thing. i like this idea (Dave M).

Nice cues guys, especially the military themed ones.

We don't have any Real Pool Rooms here. So I play at any bar that I can find a game.
my current shooter is a SW PJ.

Chris

Bump for the home stretch.

I'll pull a list of eligible participants, cut off at 12:00 am EST on April 2, and post how the winner will be chosen when the final number of participants is known.

Last couple of days now. Put your name in the hat for a decent set of used Aramith balls and some other little goodies.

my name is not in the hat. but i am going to share this story:

i gave my son, my old, 1st, POS black cue - so that he would "have his own cue". all the men would try to help his technique (cause he wouldn't listen to Mommy).

one night, as they were playing (and also playing the jukebox), and after he let my son beat him....that man handed my son, his cue.

i had forgotten the look on Grey's face, till now. and the impact.

he cherishes it. won't play w/ anything else. and that moment, was when he got hooked on pool.

Nice story, Mrs. Pink. It would be great if somebody who was semi new to pool, or just transitioning to taking it more seriously than a drinking game, ended up with this stuff. A set of quality, clean balls makes the game a lot better. Even with the wear on the set being given away, they'll act a lot more predictable and be less frustrating to learn with. Imagine reading about stun shots and tangent lines, and trying to get the correct reaction out of a set of $20 Sportcraft balls.

Eligibility cutoff is midnight tonight EST. A quick scroll looked to me like 11 people who complied with the simple entry requirements. Reading is fundamental, folks!

Even if the participant level doubles on the last day, you have to like your odds!

Final participants list

The below list is everyone who met (most of) the eligibility requirements. Those who put their name, where they play, and a picture of their cue have 3 numbers assigned. The 2 members who forgot a couple of things in their posts each got 1 number to round out the 35 numbers being used.

Tonight's Powerball drawing (April 2, 2014) will decide the winner. If the number next to your name is drawn as the POWERBALL, I'll PM you for shipping info.

Spimp13: 1-12-23
Dave_M: 2-13-24
Houstoer: 3-14-25
bklynjava: 4-15-26
Shannon.Spronk: 5-16-27
galipeau: 6-17-28
Rackemep: 7-18-29
Baxter: 8-19-30
Wright Shot: 9-20-31
Billyard: 10-21-32
pool101: 11-22-33
KCRack'em: 34
Barking4action: 35

Good luck to everyone, and start thinking about your own thread in case you win (or even if you don't)!

I promise there are no shenanigans with Dave_M winning. I'd use my psychic powers for much more devious things than rigging drawings on pool forums!

Hope you have some more things to pay forward, mister!

Definitely do! lol

I have a cue extension and a bunch of other goodies building up in the "junk" drawer.

Junk Drawer - noun - The place Dave keeps all his cool trinkets, so the wifey doesn't find out!
