Jim, don't you have better things to do with your time than worry about what I do? in your own mind, you're really the ONLY knowledgeable person here, the ONLY intelligent one here, the ONLY say what you think person here...should I go on about how you think you're better than everyone else, or do you all see what I'm talking about too? yes, I'm wasting my time doing this, but its ok.

Duke-
Not that Jim wants or needs me on his side to further his argument, but you have to admit... your track record for making annoying and tiresome claims of "best playing cue and I'll never part with it", and then turning around and trying to hock it a few days later is, shall we say, somewhere near the 100% mark!!!

You are as predictable and annoying as Shorty was with his constant inquiries regarding cues for sale that he had no means or intentions of ever purchasing.

The only thing more annoying than your "I'm quitting the game and selling my DZ cue / I just got a new DZ cue" cycle is the fact that you whine like a toddler when someone calls you on it. Give it a rest man.

Take a chill

Call Mike and ask for one like mine. Plan on a little wait! You may have to get one with a little more work in it though. He makes so few cues. Mine would be $2300.00 or there abouts but again plan a little higher!
Hope this is helpful
Mikes # 1-410-247-1231 Tim Scruggs Custom cues and ask for Mike!
Tell him you saw it here!
Also he tells me he can do this joint in ivory!! And ivory is his first choice!!
Thanks
Nick

Hey Nick I love Tim and Mike as much as the next guy, but come on man give it a break. I mean at first it was some kind words about a nice cue, now you seem like you're trying to somehow get famous over this Joint. It's not a Nick Joint it's a Mike/Tim joint, I am sure if it hits good and holds up they will use it on their cues. There is no need to call and ask for a special serdula joint and just cause he used it on your cue give you no claim to the joint, relax before you pop a vessal.

If you know what you are looking at this might be a first!
Please try not to speculate on the construction in this thread. I have added this picture so if you order a cue you might say please make like Nick's!
You will see the differance straight away if not apologies and also for my not so good pics. I wiped the cue with a rag after playing with it and some threads stuck to the forearm giving the impression of scratches. The cue is flawless unlike my pictures of it!
Another note about the cue is the shortened ferrels. They are a first for me and I loved the wat they performed right away. The cue has even less deflection with this type ferrel. Everything about this cue is amazing! The playability and the fit and finish!!!!
Thank you
Nick

So, please educate me on this. What is so new or different about this joint?

And shortened ferrules? (Not ferrel) There's nothing new in shortened ferrules either.

If there's new technology here, like the joint being a "Titanium-Magnesium-Carbon Fiber alloy" or something like that, I would understand. But from the pic, it doesn't really seem any different. Would like some enlightenment please.

thanks,

If that picture isn't enough you might need to ask someone besides me and reread my first few post about the joints actual construction!
Thanks

I'm not ragging you about your cue, mind you. I am really interested in what you say is new about the joint construction.

But, your explanation in the first page is kinda vague and the picture doesnt really show me anything different... other than the fact that the SS joint has thick walls kinda like a Joss (except my two Joss cues have piloted SS joints and yours is flat faced.)

Mike's New Joint is the SHIZ CANIZZLE!

Hey Nick, when I went down to Tim and Mike's a couple of months ago, Tim says this new joint will now be their preferred set up, due to the way it plays. You are one of the first to get it. I shot with one while I was there on Tim's table and I can tell you this, it is incredible!!! un-freakin' real.
It played so damn good I didn't want to put it down. I know exactly what you mean. No doubt, hands down and without compare, the best playin' cue I've ever had in my hands. PERIOD! It's incredibly responsive and precise.

Mine will be done soon and it's getting done in Ivory. I can't wait to get it!!:) drool, drool, and double drool.

I'm envyous, you got yours first!! No, all kidding aside, great lookin cue man!
LOTS of luck!

I've not seen many MC cues but I have to say that I think the two cues with boxed/bridged veneers at Cues 'N Things are awesome (http://www.cuesnthings.com/cues/cochran)!

I had a feeling he gave me one of the first ones,

It is nice to know I am not cue crazy. I really love this thing and have shot less than a hour with it and that is all it took. Good luck with yours and thanks for the kind words. Everyone else hear me now and believe me later!!! I promose you if you do not order one soon you will be looking at a 3 year wait. When this cue gets out the orders will be backed up fast.
Just a thought to all my friends here! Jimbo get you will thank me I am sure of it.
And every day I like it a little more. Nice plain 8 pointer that plays too sweet actually better than it looks.
Hitman you are the man! Happy pocketing with yours :)

Nice Stick!

Hey Nick....very nice cue :)

Is that a radial pin? What size is the ferrule and tip?

Enjoy

Hebk if I know Ken!

The cue is 19 oz 13mm I am guessing. The short ferrel gives the illusion of a fatter shaft. If I ordered it I would be able to say but I am a pretty good guesser that and Mike said balls on 19 ounces!
The cue is sooooo pretty and get this my wrist are getting a workout twisting it together and appart. It is tight By the time I twist it together my veins are popping out im am arms!
Funny stuff but true!
NOT FOR SALE EVER Guppie.. Keep swingin and studying and you will do just fine. Bama can always sell you his Scruggs!
Much thanks:)
Nick
OOpsie one day I will spell check! Heck if I know Ken !!!!!!!!!!

Trust me if I call Mike or Tim I don't need to name drop you, maybe you should ask them. The only nut is the guy who's caught up in trying to be a rock star. Congrats on the free cue, seems it did the trick.

You must be crazy hit man, that joint is only for Nick, and if by some chance you did get one on your cue that was ordered before Nick even got his you must have had ESP and ordered it NICK style. LOL I hope that makes him feel better.

Maybe Nick is unclear, can't explain it or chooses not to, but I believe the difference in the joint we are looking at is that the pin is set into the black phenolic (instead of into wood), and the metal joint is just sleeved over that material. I believe I have seen this done before, mostly in Ivory jointed cues and of the top of my head can't recall who has done it, but I don't believe it to be new to cues. I also wonder if that ring goes into the forearm of the cue at all and how it's attached. Tim has done flat faced Acme pins before (he didn't like the threads) but maybe never directly into that ring. I hope this clears up the big mystery, of course I could be wrong and I am sure Tim wouldn't mind clearing it up, but if you were to slide the metal off that joint I am assuming that the black is one piece turned down and connects with that black ring under it.
