Here's my tiny collection which I've been trying to post. The cues are as follows: (top to bottom)
1. 2004 Kenneth Murrell 6point BEM/amboyna burl hoppe with lizard wrap.
2. Early 90s Tim Scruggs 6point BEM/ebony hoppe.
3. 2003 Skip Weston 4point Curly Maple/ebony hoppe.
4. 2004 Bryan Mordt 4point Curly Maple/purpleheart hoppe.
5. 2003 Mike Capone BEM plain jane.

Did I tell anyone that I love hoppes? :D I'm currently awaiting another hoppe from a dead sexy cuemaker.. :p

P.S I'm interested in letting go off my Kenneth Murrell..Anyone interested please pm me.

Yeah, they are real beauties as I get to see them almost every week. :)

Eddie, please keep the hoppes coming. :)

Hey Eddie, those cues look gorgeous. I believe I've seen them before through pics sent via PM's.

I got a hoppe ring on my Skip as well! but I also got 4 ivory diamonds above it; not as authentic, but I couldn't resist. The longest debate I had was between hoppe ring or ivory buttcap, and I'm hoping I made the right decision.

Hopefully I'll get my Skip this week, and then I'll have pictures of my own to post.

Hi Roger,
Via PM's? Maybe Mike L sent those pics to you. :D I've looked at so many cue designs, and I like inlays as well, if its done tastefully. The main problem is my finances, or the lack of it. Something about a hoppe ring that makes me smile, so simple and elegant. It's a pity that not many cue companies makes this design, I've only seen joss do it in the past few years. But a rubber bumper is a must for the cue's survival..something the original somehow didn't have.

Hi-TiNy,Great looking cues really nice, question I have a hoppe by jacoby and it's a wrapless but I was thinking about getting it wraped , could you tell me what color is the wrap on the BCM cue. Thanks

It's white/light green. I find that this colour of irish linen really gives it an old school feel, especially for hoppes and plain bushkas designs. Its because Cortland wrap is only available in that colour. I still cannot believe that the cortland factory closed down, read somewhere that it's due to a LACK OF DEMAND for its linen? I tried my friend's old Joss with a Cortland Linen..it feels like silk. Bryan did a great job on my irish linen too, feels even better than predator's double-pressed method.

I bought a BCM cue with a pressed wrap off Bryan a year ago and it looks and feels great with it, but with this cue I would like to get a linen wrap not pressed installed and I was thinking about the cortland which is my favorite color in a wrap but I guess it's hard to find, anyway with the colors that are in the verneers I might have to go with another anyway so when I seen your hoppe cue I just had to ask the color of it, I was thinking about a white- brown speckle wrap might go good with my cue but a nice white light green might also be nice I just like green in wraps I guess , my vaneers are purple, blueish green, brown , and its a wrapless cue so I would have to have someone turn it down and install it.

Hi Steven,
Just curious, what kind of wood is your handle currently? Cortland is always nice, but I believe it'll cost a few times more than what your cue is worth. I think you'll get a better understanding if you read the thread on cortland wrap elsewhere in the forum.

Hi Erik,
I'm interested if its free! :p But seriously, I much prefer a Scruggs in his traditional 5/16-14 SS joint. However, I am on the lookout for a Capone hoppe, it's 4point/4veneer with a BIG railroad track style ring on 'C', and it's curly maple/dark walnut burl. It was sold on ebay by proficient billiards almost 2years ago, haven't seen it resurface. I was abit short on cash back then..(about 1k usd short..hehe) Anybody owns that piece of beauty?

Hi-Eddie,I read about it the other day and that is deffinitly not my price, if I had a balabushka or szamboti I would do it , if I could afford a cue like that it would deffinitly get the best but since I can't and my cue was bought only at 400 on ebay I would go with a cheaper wrap , anyway I think the butt is rosewood but i'm not sure but if you go here it will show you the vaneers that the cue has.

http://billiardcue.com/cues.php?view=3&start_row=100&search_letter=

and look up Q1642 the vaneers look like them but the wood is deffenitly not that of my cue mine looks ten times better then that wood so i'm not sure but would have to say rosewood

Steven

Hi Steven,
You bought a titlist hoppe? I think I remember seeing it on ebay. Why not ask the cuemakers in the forum how much it would cost to put a linen wrap on it? White/green or white/brown linen is a pretty common colour, I'm sure they'll have it in stock.
