Yesterday I was shooting pool and after I warmed up I decided to try my hand at 14.1. So I set up a side of the rack break shot, I hit it and the rack broke open beautifully. I had a choice of starting shots and went at it. The patterns just seemed to be there. So I get to the end pattern (the last five balls). Then, in my mind I thought "Wow, I can't believe how good this is, I'm going to run the full rack out with a great break ball". Then I missed the 11th ball in the side. UUUUUGGGGGG!!!

Classic example of not staying in the moment.

Wish I could say been there, done that. I'm always there, doing that on a regular basis. I also check my wallet ID to remember who I am, have a remote beeper on all my key sets, and ... and ... ahh, never mind, I can't remember. :scratchhead:

It's funny how easy it is for me to get caught up in the numbers. If i throw 15 balls on the table I'll run them out some of the time. The most I've done in a row like that was over 47 (don't remember how many I ran in the 4 group of balls), but playing straight pool it's only26 (and that was around 3 years ago). I just get so nervous playing it, I think I put the game so high on a pedestal (like breaking and running 9 ball), I choke.

I need to learn to hit the balls like i do when i just throw them out and run them.

But all in all, not bad for not shooting in quite some time. Like Fast Eddy said "I'm Back"...
