This last summer I bought a few new cues with one of them being a wrapless Wayne Robinson. I had agreed to review the cue on here after getting it but I went with the old "if you don't have anything good to say..." and thought better of it. I could not make a long shot with the stick and it was by far the worst hit I'd ever experienced. Something just seemed wrong with the squirt/deflection of the cue. So basically it sat in my case for the last few months with a couple hours of play on it. Recently I thought rather than give up on it I thought it might be worthwhile to try a new tip to see if it would change the hit so I contacted Kevin Varney through here. After receiving one of the shafts he told me how poorly the ferrule had been mounted and that rather than trying a harder tip he said he would install a new qaulity ferrule correctly and that should improve the playability a lot. Well I got the shaft back yesterday and was able to play for about an hour with it and what a difference! I will be sending Mr. Varney the other shaft to have the same magic worked. I also now have the nice problem of trying to decide which cue to play with because I now have 4 great players. I would highly recommend Kevin Varney if you need some cue work done. Maybe I'll do that Robinson review now but I thought I would give KV some deserved props first.
