This is the Scruggs I won from the Chrisonline raffle. This cue is stunning in person & my pics do not do the cue any justice. I have hit a few racks with this cue with both shafts & it plays very very well. I have no idea what this cue would cost to have made today. Does anyone else have an idea? I hope Mr. Nick chimes in because he`s pretty knowledgeable
about the $$$ of Scruggs cues. This cue is not forsale just trying to get an idea what it cost to make new. Thanks for looking & enjoy the pics.

That's a beauty! Congrats on picking that up!

According to a note I received from Tim and Mike, a basic four pointer with four veneers and no inlays would cost $2,000.00 new. Yours has the nice maple windows inlayed in the butt sleeve and what looks to be an ivory butt cap and ferrules. All of which is additional cost as Mr. Olney has already pointed out. I would definitely hang on to this baby if I were you!

Nice pickup on cue.

Made me think of an auction I went to years ago. It was an estate sale of the Grandfather of one of the guys I worked with at the time. He knew I was always (at that time) going to gun auctions.

The old guy had a strange collection, he didnt have 2 of anything but the guns he had were absolutely "THE" one to have. (Another one of my suggestions for cue buyers, buy great verses buying many) He had pre '64 Model 70 Winchester, Parker DBL, Luger, Colt 45, Broomhandle, etc. all of them were in NIB condtion. But the one that I nearly died for was an old orignal Winchester "Gallery Gun" pump 22. It was pristine and all orignal. I collect these and have "several".

I asked about the little gun and he laughed, "Granddad won that at an auction". "Really," I note. "Oh yes," he continued, "he told us many times that gun cost him a whole 10 cents."

Best 10 cents ever invested....;)

Jeff, very nice cue, the butt cap and ferrules looks like ivory thats about 600.00 alone. Jeff
How can you tell from these pics ?

From what I`m told the ferrules are Ivory & the butt cap is Faux Ivory.
Both shafts weigh in at 3.9oz. The Boars hide leather wrap is very stunning itself. Like Mr. Ken says its a keeper for sure. Thanks for all the compliments on the cue.

$ not sure

Prices will be taking a giant leap up very soon. But $2300.00 new for now is close. Nice cue. If you ever want to trade up I would take it in partial trade.
Nick :)

wow.. after all these years, this is the first time i am seeing this thread..

when i bought this cue originally, i was led to believe the butt cap was ivory so i paid a premium price for it..mike cocheral set me straight, he told me how they used a faux ivory substitue for most of their butt caps and its really hard to tell.. even he had trouble.. thats why i am doubtfull when most people are sellings scruggs and say they have ivory buttcaps.. i really liked this cue, it was one of my favorites.. everything about it.. back when i sold it, i was in need of a new car.. so this baby had to go.. one thing that made this cue special was it had a dennis searing shaft.. and both shafts the scruggs and the searing shaft played great! the boars hide leather was oh so perfect..

after i bought this cue, i had many conversations via email with Mike Cocheran.. my plan was to buy one of his cues.. and unfortunatly it never came about and mike passed (rip mike) , who would ever have thought things would turn out this way and tim would retire.. i always thought i would have all the time in the world to design my own MC cue..

every day i look at scruggs cues, i remember this cue that i owned..

i hope you still have it pooldawg... and hope you are still enjoying it!
