My South West Dilemna

Thanks for all the replies, folks. If nothing else it makes for interesting reading, lol.

As for me being inspired (or not) to take up the game again it's not a matter of desire, it's a matter of logistics. I refuse to deal with the air in smoker joints, I once played at a fairly steady level and am having trouble getting enthused about finding the practice time to return to that level, and I'm now married with a 6 mo. old son (which should be self-explanatory).

Laurie was great to deal with and I have no regrets other than not ordering more. I don't need the money insofar as paying the mortgage or buying diapers or anything like that but a few extra beans in the bank never hurt anything. I'll probably sleep on it for a little while... I'm sure the decision will come to me in time.

Viper - I think you made my eyes bleed! You realize, I'm sure, that the case in the picture very well may have come from your own f'ing mascot, right? :D

P.S. - You shoulda bought something manly like a GT500KR or Ford GT.

Didn't say I didn't like Southwest cues. IMO, they are an extremely well made playing cue.

But I do consider them over hyped, and a 10 year waiting period is insane.

It's just that I doubt that any cue is the holy grail of sticks. At the upper
levels, there are other options, all of them playing as well as a Southwest.

Good luck on making the right decision for yourself. It's a "good problem" in that you won't be hurt either way.

and finally...

Oklapony:

I promise that if you do decide to sell the cue to me, I will not get the Whitten case that viperkiller suggested, nor will I transport it in my car (look close). ;)

Hook 'em Horns!!! er, I mean, thank you for your kind consideration. :grin-square:

Best,
Brian kc
P.S. Yes, this is my car, how funny is that?

KC - If I end up selling it to either you or Viper, I'll have to include the longhorn surcharge. :)

If I were you it would be goodbye South West cue and put the money you get out of the cue in the bank for your sons college. It doesn't make any sense to let a nice cue like that sit if your aren't playing now. You can find another cue if you decide to start playing again. There's a ton of cues on the market all the time...........

Again, thanks for the replies, everyone. I have indeed decided to sell the cue. I'll a post up and ad soon, probably today.

While I'm fairly new to these forums I've got an excellent history on eBay and can also point to a couple of regulars on here that have known me for years and (hopefully) will be kind enough to put in a good word for me.

It's a sweet cue, chalk the biatch up and knock some balls around! It's a no-brainer. You paid for it for a reason. To PLAY with it. Take my advice, you will be glad you did.
