Hi Folks,

On Monday, March 10th, I was forced by circumstances beyond my control to withdraw from this years event. My entries had been paid for months. Called the phone number listed on the SBE site. Allen answered. Explained my problem. He told me he would refund my entries and was sorry to hear I was not coming.

Three days later, a notice from PayPal acknowledging a refund for the Warm-Up had been issued. A week later a second refund PayPal note for the Senior event. Yesterday a letter came from Allen with a check for the final two events Talk about customer service!

Included in Allen's note was a statement regarding next years event. As Kick'en Chicken stated on a previous thread, We're off to Pennsylvania next year. Among the improvements Allen noted was carpeting for the pool table areas. The official dates directly from his hand are April 15th for the Warm-Up and April 16th through April 19th for the Expo. Can't wait. For those doubters, Allens exact words were "spread the word".

Thanks Allen for everything you and your "family" do for the game. Hope you make a million next year ;) .

Yes the good people in the World, but good acts, are not covered in the News, or this forum, as drama sells. JMHO
 
Lyn...Where in PA? Back to King of Prussia? Allen won't make a million, but he does make his entire year's income from that one single event...and worth every penny he makes, imo! See you in Vegas in July! :thumbup:

Yes I too hope that it will be back in Valley Forge again. Right up the street from me. Awesome :thumbup:

To be perfectly honest,that's the one thing Allen did not state in his note. Having played the Valley Forge 9 Ball last November, I can tell you from experience we will NOT be going back there for SBE. There just isn't enough room. Brian said Oaks. I've trusted his information for years. I'll go with his statement until I hear otherwise directly from Allen.

As things seem to be going this year, I'll be just outside Toronto the third week of April. Guess I'll just have to see you in July. The Canadian National Billiard events are being held in Mississauga. I'm going for the CCS Advanced Eight Ball singles.

Great news Lyn! Did that letter happen to have anything in it about having lights over the tables?!
 
Allen is definitely a stand up guy. I had signed up for an event a couple years ago and then couldn't make it because of medical issues with my father. I called Allen the afternoon of the event and explained my issue. He said it was certainly not a problem to refund my money as the draw had not been done yet. I received my refund within the week.

I am certainly not happy about SBE moving as it was only a couple hours for me in Jersey, but if this is what needs to be done to continue this event, then I will continue to support it!

First time in April? Well great. I actually liked the Oaks and don't mind the move. Will miss Sandcastle and the friends I have made there but I guess now I will spend more time playing at the expo.

Actually John, SBE in 2013 was in April. Got moved back to March this year. You mentioned you were travelling in the Northeast. Any chance you are coming to Upstate New York? The part of the State West of Albany over towards Buffalo. Would love to meet up with you.

We are already south. Heading towards Virgina to meet The World Pro. Kidding.....I heard he has an armored hummer fitted with a 50cal waiting for me to cross the firing line.

Man, I would love to see copy of that "statement." You know, just to verify the truth... :)
