My two favorite female players (Sarah Rousey and Rachel Abbink) meet in the first round. I wish them both luck. Hopefully both will end up with a good finish in the tournament.

The brackets have finally been updated... Rachel has an "F" by her name.... I wonder if she didn't show up or if something else happened??? Anyone hear anything?
She probably didn't show up. She has done that on more than one occasion. Rachel is on the road making money quite a bit, so if she gets tied up in action somewhere, or in a good spot to make money, she doesn't show up for the tournaments. I'll call her to see what the deal is.Timberly said:
Anyone who knows her well knows that she is wide open when it comes to action and matching up, and she needs someone to reign her in on occasion. That's not saying anything negative. In fact, that is the main thing that I like about her. But she has said that she is interested in climbing the ranks of the WPBA, so she needs to make some decisions on what is really important to her.

Well, Mike, we have to wait for all the facts here, but if your suspicion is true, that Rachael's absence was because she found some good action somewhere, it's hard to imagine why you'd admire her. There are many capable ladies who'd love to be playing in this great event but didn't get the chance. I, personally, would hate to see a spot wasted on someone to whom it means so little. Still, let's wait for the facts here. Perhaps your suspicion will not be confirmed.

I agree 100%. There are many ladies who would love to be competing there. As for her being one of my favorite players.... I do love Rachel's style. She is a female Little John when in a room, always in action or trying to get something started. She has more heart than anyone I know (male or female), and I have seen her bare down and outrun the nuts many times just to get action started in rooms.
I may be premature in my assumption. I'm sure we will know eventually what happened.
