My upcoming first tattoo.

This is either going on my chest or on my arm.

ive seen dudes with al capone or scarface on em so why dont give respect to the best pool player ever.

If you're serious about getting a portrait tattoo I'd recommend Dawn Purnell.

Here is her website, http://www.dawnpurnell.com/ Click the works link and then find portraits.

She's probably the best portrait tattoo artist I've seen. One of the best in the biz. She's been featured in many magazines specifically for her portrait work. Check her out.

I have enough ink on my body for two people. I'd say, as far as tattoos go, they aren't for everyone and make sure you really want what you're getting. Don't let any persuade or dissuade you. It's a personal choice everyone has to make.

Why? You want a picture of a strange man on you chest? Are you kidding?

I dont think i could find a tattoo artist with the skills to copy it exactly as is.

Of course you can. If you're serious about getting a portrait tattoo, then there are several in Florida that can do it to anyone's level of expectation.

Shave your head... tattoo it on your scalp. If you don't like it... grow your hair back out:cool:

It doesn't matter a hill of beans to me what you do.
It's your life, it's your body.
But it does beg the question of why you'd want to treat your body as if it were a coloring book.

I've never seen a picture I wanted to permanately put on my body, especially a picture of an old guys' face.

To each his own.

I don't care if you are (one of) his loving wife, IMO, HUGE mistake. Please rethink your choice of tat!!! (I LOVE pool, and Efren is the bomb, but this portrait choice seems just wrong...)

GL whatever you decide though, it's your domain!

Hmmm tat of a dude on a dude, leads to you trying to justify it with words like "his stroke" and "his shaft" flying around...sounds like a bad idea all the way around.

I'd go with a tribute a tad more subtle, if I'm having it for life but if you are comfortable with it then more power to you. I have no problem with it.

if you decide on getting it i heard theres a guy in miami called pride that does some of the sickest portraits you'll ever see. ive seen them first hand and they look just like the picture. problem is hes real expensive because hes good

You should have no problem paying a lot for a tattoo. One thing I never look for when getting a tattoo...... A bargain.

I would definitely think twice about this before I jumped in headfirst.

Here's a good idea. Wait a month. If you still want the tattoo then I say go for it. But you may find that it was just an impulse thing that sounded like a good idea at the time. A month later you might not even care.

As far as who to go to, I haven't a clue. Good luck with that.

I know he's is in Dayton, but it is worth the flight. the serial killer tattoos were done for a guy in the navy stationed in S.Carolina, who flew up just to have Matt do them over a non stop 48 hr session.
I am going to try to post some pics of my back piece in progress.
REMEMBER THIS IS STILL IN PROGRESS, NOT FINISHED BY ANY MEANS.

MAKE SURE WHO EVER DOES YOUR WORK IS REPUTABLE, CLEAN!!AND HAS A PORTFOLIO OF WORK TO SHOW YOU. And yes I was screaming as these are the most important thing to look for before you get the tattoo.

there's a cat named brent used to be at twisted heart in hollywood fla. opened a new shop in orlando and was splitting time last i heard (2-3 years ago). find him and he'll nail the portrait. if you're serious pm me and i'll try to call some of my friends in south florida and see if i can hook you up with a name of the shop and number. if you want to see some of his work i can send pics of my arm. he did some phenominal fine line work and shading on a piece. i know you're in jax but trust me, that's the sort of thing you want to travel for.

Like the picture of Elvis at Graceland but hate the tattoo. It scrambles my brain trying to look at it...very undistinguishable. looks like clutter. sorry, just being honest.

Tom Renshaw is the Efren Reyes of portrait tattoos (actually any black and grey tattoos).

If you get this done by him you would be more than satisfied. Save up your money though. He has a long waiting list and isn't cheap - but a tattoo is permanent.

www.tomrenshaw.com

But...why Efren? Why portraits of random people? I can understand portraits of family members or something like that (I love tattoos and have two so far - but no portraits)...but not Scarface..or gangsters..or something like that.

Instead, make a name for yourself so other people will want to tattoo your image on them. Just a thought.
