Mysterious Shaft from South of the border

I was in San Diego this passed weekend, not to play billiards but to do Tourist stuff. Stopped in at College Billiards for a short time. Purchased a shaft that fit my cue. The shaft is called Hakamori and I was told it came from Mexico. I never heard of it, but for the price I picked it up. Anybody heard of this Manufacturer?

I purchased the shaft from the case. I called Pedro ahead of time to see what he had to sell. I remember him having a cue container by "Buffalo" and wondered if he sold buffalo shafts so I called him and he said no to Buffalo but he had a shaft that may fit my cue.

Thanks everyone, now I know it comes from Korea.

Very interesting. The cue is made in Korea by a Korean cue maker? I would like to know more details about this cue and maker.....

May I ask what cue(butt) you were trying to find a match for? I am trying, also, to find one for an older Helmstetter. Some of the dealers in the past had them for $125-$160 per shaft. So if this Korean shaft fits, then I may want one, also.

The cue is a Bufallo which is made by Adam. I was able to fit an Adam's shaft perfectly into my cue butt. I bought a Helmstetter shaft but the Wood joint pin was bigger then the Bufallo or Adam shafts so I had to lightly sand/soap it down to fit.

The Ha kamori shaft is same size thread and pin size as the Adam made shafts except that the wood joint pin is a little shorter. I did not have to sand the threads on the Ha komori like the Helmstetter, but did have to sand the base of the wood joint pin.

The Ha Komori shaft is a constant conical shaft.

The ferrule is not flush with the shaft like my other ( Adam) joints.

The shaft is longer then my Adams shafts by a half inch.

I am going to get my three cushion teacher to test the shaft on his table to get an honest critique.

Hope this helps.
