I am going to be heading to Nashville on 4/19. I am going to be there 4/22. My company is putting me up near the airport without a car. Is there any place close by to play a little pool? I will have Wednesday, all day, and Thursday and Friday evening. Thanks in advance.

Don't know how far JOB is the airport. That would be my pool hall of choice. Nice place + potential for action. Stop in and see ALEX BRICK while your there. Great guy who can repair major/minor issues in addition to building a super cue. Have a safe trip.:)

There is no where near the airport to play. Rent a car and go to JOB's. You won't regret it. JOB's is in Madison and you can look them up in the phonebook and get directions. I think you just hit one highway (I can't remember the name of it to save my life it has been so long)...drive for about 10 miles or so and after you exit you will go right, and it will be on your left. Very simple drive, you will just more or less need road signs. Not like driving here in D.C. :)

Hit 8th avenue if you get a chance and go to Melrose (it is a downstairs poolhall). That place has been around a LONG time. Those are about the only places really worth going.

Purd,

It's not far from the airport. Take the Briley Parkway approx. 6 miles to Gallatin Rd. exit. Take a right. About a mile down the road on the left past the tattoo shops and the porn shops is JOB. It is truly one of the best pool rooms I have been to.

Hal,
You could have at least given the poor guy directions.:D

Nashville is a great town. I will be glad to pick you up at the airport or your hotel and take you to JOB's. Just send me a PM and we can make some plans.

I was hoping to be able to come to Nashville Friday and meet you. It looks as though I'm going to have to work. They gave us an extended weekend last weekend with the stipulation that we have to work Friday night. If by some chance I don't have to work, I'll be at JOB billiards around noon on Friday.

Don,

You'll love JOBs. I sure do miss Nashville, and I love that poolroom. PM me and I'll send you a list (a very long list) of people NOT to gamble with. I won't knock there action on here, but I'll tell you personally as there are some real warriors that play there. Let me know, and I'll see if my dad won't meet you out there to play some and hang out.

Is Melrose the old pool room fairly near the old Ryman? I was
in that one several years ago. Everbody played early & cleared
out by 2 in the afternoon.

Melrose is on 8th Avenue south underneath an old bowling alley. Great old room. Very nostalgic. They play at all hours of the day there, but it was more or less a college type hangout when I was going there. Not an action spot any longer, but still a great room to go practice at for sure. It has been around for a long time.
