I give my honest opinion.Pool needs to do this...
Pool needs to do that...
We need to get our youth involved...
Blah, Blah, Blah...
That's all I ever hear on here.
Finally, there is a post from some young kid with a future goal of going pro looking for a little advice. Next thing you know there is a 6 page thread on how stupid he is and that he should go get a job instead.
What a bunch of naysayers!! Don't crush somebody's dream. What's wrong with somebody pursuing a dream? Would you go to a little league baseball practice and start telling all the kids how they aren't going to be good enough to go pro and most of them won't even be good enough to play in college?
If you want to get the youth involved in pool, let them follow their dreams. Don't be an A-Hole because you weren't good enough yourself or all of your friends weren't good enough or because there isn't enough money in pool or whatever. You should be appreciative that somebody new fell in love with pool! Provide a little support for once...
http://www.rantsports.com/clubhouse/2014/09/14/15-athletes-who-started-playing-sports-late/Find me one. Find me a professional pool player who started when they were in their twenties. Or, a baseball player, or a golfer, or a cat juggler. It can't be done.
One of my favorite pieces of graffiti was on a white-washed wall of a KFC...

So the question should be show me someone with no athletic ability that became a pro after starting in their 20's?oh if kimbo diid it...i mean...come on lol.....just about everyone thats in here was either actively involved in another sport so was an "athlete" already...like Graham....
best exapmles are maybe weir and the swimmer chick....all he basketball players....well they are all 7ft tall now arnt they, so that helps.
every sport listed on there though they kind of make a little money....pool players mke no money....they also dont really have sponsors paying them livable salarys and such....most pros being sponsored means eqipment, and maybe some entries.
That did it.....I'm hitting the gym....gonna be the world heavy-weight boxing champion...
....give me two years.....
Does anyone have some old gloves I could borrow?
The only way you'll ever hit a gym, my good friend, is if you accidentally make a wrong turn in your Silverado and crash through the front door.
I have an old pair of mittens you can have. I used them while reading in the bathroom.

I'm getting pumped up here.....think I'll watch Creed again. I wonder if it ends the same this time.

I absolutely agree it is extremely rare for someone to do late in life. Just trying to point out it is possible.i guess lol....its noot that its not done....but for example someone gaining the skills to be a center and your 7ft.....or going from basketball to catching a football and your 6'7 or whatever graham is......its just not really done....it takes some time to really master something, and once your out momy and daddys you dont have as much time to dick around with some thing just for fun without getting paid for it.......chit. most wont get better at their job to even think of getting a raise....work to be better than your natural abilities and become a pro?
poff bet.....
