Dis you have a cue deal that slipped away? A golden opportunity but it didn't happen?

Mine was a Scruggs cue.

I have a habit of failing to pull the trigger. Moving to late. Hesitating.

The deal? Unbelievable.

The cue? Well, it was a Scruggs with two shafts, pristine from tip to bumper. Fancy rings at all positions, ivory diamond inlays, four points, beautiful veneers, ebony into spectacularly figured maple. Amazing leather wrap. And a Fellini case.

I have no pictures, just the memories. Failed to pull the trigger. It was years ago.

I recently missed out on another cue. Not as spectacular. Not as high end. But a nice cue that I really wanted. I got caught up with work. Distracted. When I remembered and got back to a couple days later, it was gone. I know the guy who sold it. If I had only said hold it he would have. But I hesitated.

Made me think of that Scruggs that got away years ago.

That one was a heart breaker.

.

That $8k hill/hill 10 ball that Chinahov missed against Appleton most certainly broke his heart. Not to mention the 9 ball in the previous game.

Ouch.

Missed out on a Gilbert merry widow. $600 on Facebook. Everyone hesitated because it sounded too good to be true. Wife's husband was in jail and she needed the dough.

I guess it depends why he was in jail. It certainly would be too good to be true if you had to worry about a violent felon showing up at your door looking for "his" cue.

Had my eyes on an Eddie Cohen sneaky for $400.

.....I wish I could have pulled the trigger on that one. The seller was very nice in waiting for my reply, and in the end, I told him to go ahead and let it go:(

You might be the first member I have seen from Tokyo! Ohayo gozaimasu from Houston!

Meh, he was several states away. I keep a pistol near me just in case. Big difference from previous places I have lived.

Back in the seventies I purchased a couple Paul Hubler cues and spent several hundred dollars on them. Then I went to St Louis to try them out. I saw a Balabushka with 5 shafts for $500.00. But didn't have the money. The owner was on death row and his lawyer was selling the cue to get some money back.

Found a guy in a different province selling a predator 8k1 and bk2 as a package for $400 Canadian. Agreed to the deal and shipping and then someone bought it locally......sigh

6 point Black Boar: $1800... Just missed it.

Responded first to a post for a nice Keith Kue sneaky at a great price. The cue was instead sold to a goofball member who almost always uses some kind of sob story to buy or sell cues. He also nearly single-handedly broke the "For Sale" section... That's the one that pissed me off the most.
