Ok im lookin for a cuemaker here to make me a cue i have wanted for awhile and thought about going to a couple big names and ordering one, but honestly with the way the economy is and obviously alot of guys here may end up being the tad and ginas of the future i thought id support someone here, need a medium hitting cue, with ebony forearm, six abonya burl points, ebony butt sleeve with abonya burl boxes similair to the mottey box cues, with ivory joint and maybe a touch of ivory in the points and boxes, nothing too crazy with the ivory, who can pull this off for me?

You might try Leon Sly who posts on AZ, I think his work is amazing ,very reasonable and a nice guy to talk to!

Pete

ill be contacting the few that sent me messages, but let me explain a little clearer, im not for a newer big maker like varney or sly, although i will contact them, ive seen a few azers here that have just started to try to sell a few cues of their ownt and thought id give me a shot, wasnt long ago i was trading stories and meuccis with steve lomax and he wanted to start makin cues and look where hes at today!!!!! Way to go steve!

Have you contacted Jeff Olney? Check the gallery section. Remy posted pics of his Abonya burl pointed cue & also Jeff O just finished an Abonya burl pointed cue for cuesblues. Jeffs cues are absolutely stunning & his prices are very reasonable also. Just thought I`d pass this onto you.
Best wishes on your new cue & please keep us informed.

If I were you, I would follow through with the Leon Sly idea. He is your best bet.

Other than that, I would suggest a few more estblished cuemakers, Jensen, Omen, Mike Webb (he posts here).

Oh, I will tell you another maker that posts here and has nice looking stuff is Gracio Cues. I have never hit one, butt I have been watching his work and it looks very nice. Seems reasonably priced as well.

Jeff Olney would be a tremendous choice. He's not a talented "new guy". He not only makes extraordinary cues, he's got the background & experience to know why. You can't fully appreciate the precision of his work until you get it in hand, and the finish has a depth of quality that makes the whole thing seem like jewlery under glass.
I've got two & we're working on a third. I use the 5/16-14 piloted myself, so I can speak for it - but his 3/8-10 is highly spoken of & I understand it's so intimate that it's a workout to put together.
(By the way - that's my 1st custom Olney in my avatar.)

I think Jeff Olney would definitely be a good choice. my olney cue is my player of choice and I have a good selection to choose from (Black boar, Scruggs, Richard Black, Joss West, Capone, Runde schon).

I think the base of your design is nice but add a maple veneer to really make it a cue of beauty, same with the windows. Just my nickles worth.

Paul Sumrall would be a great choice. These are currently posted on AZ or he'll make one just the way you want. Call him at 806-778-1957

I am posting these for Paul. I do not have these cues with me, but live only about 5 minutes from him, so if additional information is needed, and you can't get a hold of Paul, I will be able to help.

hint: only one of your "big name" makers listed above could make that cue....

good luck in your search, and if you want a "new guy", I'd suggest checking out Scott Gracio as well...

btw - what's your budget?

thanks! im lookin for someone to make a cue that makes me kringe! i dont care about a name, it will be great in the end

Do a search under Joe Callaluca .......He is doing some great work, and will do inlays in other woods besides ebony only ;) .. I also hear he is very reasonable!! I did a trade for one of his cues (Davis conversion) on the secondary market, and the execution was top notch imo...Good luck in your search...
