Hello guys!

I am considering a purchase of a Brunswick Gibson 9' table in the near future.

My specific question is to the dissassembly and moving of the table. I can surely do it myself; however I am interested in anyone's advice that has dealt with this specific table with regards to any details or potential problems I may encounter so that I don't damage any part of the table while taking it down.

Also, I am interested in a quote from a mechanic who would be willing to take the table down for me (it is in Greencastle PA) and set it up in Huntington, Long Island, NY. Or variations thereof- maybe one mechanic local to s. central PA can take it down and help me pack it to avoid damage, and another can help me unpack it and set it up in NY.

I'm all ears...:confused:
 
I just spoke to Pat and he suggested Rob at Table Tech...

Caling him now...
 
Pat seemed like a nice enough guy. Also nice is the fact that he did not hesitate to suggest another AZ member to do the work. (It seems it is a bit too far for Pat).

I left a message with Rob so we'll see what he says.

Putting it back together is probably not a problem; however I don't want to damage something or make the seller wait 4 hours while I dismantle it.

Anyway, it seems I lost that particular auction anyway. I guess we'll see if the buyer comes through or not now...

Actually, it's the exact opposite. Taking a pool table apart is considerably easier than putting it back together. It's like a car, I could take one completely apart,but could never put it back together and have it run. I recommend you have someone reputable do both parts if at all possible to keep from ruining anything.
 
Unfortunately, that was a bad example for me (the car) as I dismantle them and rebuild them... My specialties are BMW and Euro-spec Land Rover turbo Diesels, but I build a mean-ass big-block Chrysler too!

But anyway, all I was saying is that with enough time and patience (which I have more of in my own home than at the place of pick-up) I can accomplish anything. I did not want to put the seller out and risk disassembly in the incorrect order which may crack or otherwise damage some part of the assembly.

That being said, given the choice I absolutely would want someone with specialized knowledge to do both.

The table I'm NOW looking at is already (supposedly 'professionally') crated and ready to go. Plus its closer to the house...
