I have a friend who has offered this used but freshly reconditioned Tim Scruggs cue straight from Mr. Scruggs shop. Anyone care to estimate a fair market value for this great looking cue? Thanks STB

Blue book probably says $3000-$3500.....but in reality $2000-$2200 is probably a pretty good number on it. If the rings and buttap are ivory and the inlays are more detailed than they appear, add $500-$700.

I would need a better picture of the veneers and inlays to make any kind of a judgement...but Sean would probably know better than myself.

I'd give it about the same as Sean, again qualified by whether or not all of the white in the cue is ivory. Very clean and classy design. I can't really tell if all of the inlays are sharp or CNC. That would make a little difference in the price. Nice ringwork.

Knowing Tim, I would guess that all of the white is ivory, with the possible exception of the butt cap.

Scruggs

I live about 40 miles from Tims shop and one of the guys on my 8-ball league picked up a similar cue but with propellers in the butt and some other small ivory inlays. The points and inlays look similar except for color of the veneers. He got it brand new cue from Tim a couple of months ago in the ball park that Sean has already mentioned.

Good luck!

I would think if it was listed for auction on E-bay for $2,000.00 it would sell, and not be re-listed. It is like a New Cue for all practical purposes.

Yes,the cue came from a collection and it is my inderstanding the work Tim did was only cosmetic.I do not sell on ebay and have never sold in this forum, but if anyone is interested in the cue,I can have a respected member here broker the deal. The asking price is $2200.00.No shill bidders to deal with and no auction or paypal fees!PM me if interested. STB

Wish i had $2200... :(

That cue is a damn good value for $2200, knowing that Tim is suppose to stop making cues here in a couple years at most, and also his basic 4 point four veneer cues are $1900 now.

Too many cues...not enough money LOL

The butt cap is not Ivory, everything else is. STB

I think $2200 may be a little high myself. But I am no expert. But here is a Scruggs in great condition I just bought. I would think $1500 would be more realistic on this cue and you would still have to find someone who wanted it to play with to get that. But like I said I am no expert, but I do buy a lot of cues and feel $1500 is realistic market on it. If I am wrong you should get bombarded with dealers offering you $1500.

Hey Cueman, put 'em side by side both for $2500 and I bet the Veneer goes first. Even though it does not have the provanance, the veneer cue is much more appealing to me,with more Ivory and looks to be executed far better,if you compare the inlays. Thanks for the opinion though. Those considering the lowball $1500 offer, don't bother please.

Both cues have veneers. Just different colors. I think your cue is nicer than mine and that is why I estimated it to be worth a few hundred more. Put them side by side for $2500 and I doubt either will sell for a few years.
